But there’s a lot more to be said . . . so I hope you’ll join us Sunday evening, January 13 at 6:30 as we gather for the “State of the Church” address. I’ll be sharing some important information with the church family related to this past year in ministry as well as the new year ahead. You may recall I’ve introduced various ministry initiatives during this address that we’ve been able to implement. It’s a great time to share our heart and vision together. Our staff members will also be shar- ing briefly to give you some insight into their vision and planning for the future. I hope to see you here! Just What the Doctor Ordered This morning we’re beginning a new series, “Just What the Doctor Ordered” based on the Gospel of Luke. I’m going to ask you to read two chapters of Luke a week and I’m going to utilize a portion of those two chapters from which to preach each Sunday morning. Then we’ll deal with the rest of the text on Wednesday nights at 6:35 during a special Pastor’s Bible Study in the worship center right after Family FUEL. I look for- ward to “walking through” Luke’s Gospel with you! Wisdom from the Word I’m excited for each of you who will be joining us in “Wisdom from the Word” . . . this year’s “read through the Bible” emphasis. Let me encourage you not to become dis- couraged when you get to a place in your reading that you don’t easily understand or that doesn’t seem to inspire you. For a lot of people, Proverbs is easier to read through than Leviticus; Psalms seem more inspirational to some than Numbers; it’s okay . . . keep going! Don’t get bogged down or discouraged. I promise you it will be worth the effort as you read through the entire Bible. It helps to see the “big picture” of God’s redemptive work. I would encourage you to visit the “Wisdom from the Word” display table in the Fireside Lobby to sign up for period email encouragement. I’m really proud of each of you for committing to this. It will be great! Family FUEL Join us each week for our Family FUEL night. We have dinner from 5:00-5:55 P.M., then worship, devotional time, and prayer time around the tables from 6:00-6:30 P.M. After that, we have various ministry opportunities for you. Reservations aren’t neces- sary for the meal. I hope you’ll join us as we fellowship together with Family FUEL (fellowship, unity, encouragement, and laughter). A Great Big “Thank You!” Thanks to each of you for the cards, gifts, and encouraging words during the Christmas season. Most importantly, thanks for your friendship and the privilege of being your pastor. I’m looking forward to an effective year of ministry together! Pastor Ken

The State of the Church

The “State of the Church” is good! But there’s a lot more to be said . . . so I hope you’ll

join us Sunday evening, January 13 at 6:30 as we gather for the “State of the Church”

address. I’ll be sharing some important information with the church family related to

this past year in ministry as well as the new year ahead. You may recall I’ve introduced

various ministry initiatives during this address that we’ve been able to implement. It’s a

great time to share our heart and vision together. Our staff members will also be shar-

ing briefly to give you some insight into their vision and planning for the future. I hope

to see you here! Just What the Doctor Ordered

This morning we’re beginning a new series, “Just What the Doctor Ordered” based on

the Gospel of Luke. I’m going to ask you to read two chapters of Luke a week and I’m

going to utilize a portion of those two chapters from which to preach each Sunday

morning. Then we’ll deal with the rest of the text on Wednesday nights at 6:35 during a

special Pastor’s Bible Study in the worship center right after Family FUEL. I look for-

ward to “walking through” Luke’s Gospel with you!

Wisdom from the Word I’m excited for each of you who will be joining us in “Wisdom from the Word” . . . this

year’s “read through the Bible” emphasis. Let me encourage you not to become dis-

couraged when you get to a place in your reading that you don’t easily understand or

that doesn’t seem to inspire you. For a lot of people, Proverbs is easier to read through

than Leviticus; Psalms seem more inspirational to some than Numbers; it’s okay . . .

keep going! Don’t get bogged down or discouraged. I promise you it will be worth the

effort as you read through the entire Bible. It helps to see the “big picture” of God’s

redemptive work. I would encourage you to visit the “Wisdom from the Word” display

table in the Fireside Lobby to sign up for period email encouragement. I’m really proud

of each of you for committing to this. It will be great!

Family FUEL Join us each week for our Family FUEL night. We have dinner from 5:00-5:55 P.M.,

then worship, devotional time, and prayer time around the tables from 6:00-6:30 P.M.

sary for the meal. I hope you’ll join us as we fellowship together with Family FUEL

(fellowship, unity, encouragement, and laughter).

A Great Big “Thank You!” Thanks to each of you for the cards, gifts, and encouraging words during the Christmas

season. Most importantly, thanks for your friendship and the privilege of being your

pastor. I’m looking forward to an effective year of ministry together!
