Disconnect the negative battery termi-nal to prevent an accidental short cir-cuit.

Unclip and remove the trim panel sur-rounding the shifter and including thecup holders. (Figure A)

Remove (2) 9/32” screws facing upabove the gauge cluster then unclipand remove the trim panel surroundingthe gauge cluster. (Figure C)

Unclip and remove the trim panelabove the glove box. (Figure D)

Continue on page 2.

Remove (2) 9/32” screws from the bot-tom edge of the factory radio trimpanel. (Figure B)

Continue to kit preparation.

Unclip and remove the vent panel atthe top of the factory radio trim panel.(Figure E)

Remove (4) T-20 Torx screws securingthe climate controls to the factoryradio trim panel assembly andremove the controls from the assem-bly. (Retain the screws and climatecontrols for re-use during kit prepara-tion.) (Figure G)

Remove (4) T-20 Torx screws securingthe accessory socket panel to thefactory radio trim panel assembly andremove the socket panel from theassembly. (Retain the screws andaccessory socket panel for re-useduring kit preparation.) (Figure G)

Unclip and remove the passenger airbag light and the switch panel blankplates. (Retain the air bag light andblank plates for re-use during kitpreparation.) (Figure G)

Unclip the factory radio trim panelassembly. Unplug and remove theassembly. Note: Some early modelshad a ground strap attached to theradio chassis and the sub dash withan 8 MM bolt. You will need to unboltthis strap to remove the factory radiotrim panel assembly.

Remove (2) 9/32” screws behind thevent panel removed in step 6.(Figure F)

KIT PREPARATION

1 Secure the climate control into theradio housing using the factory hard-ware. (Figure A)

2 Secure the accessory socket panel tothe radio housing using the factoryhardware. (Figure B)

3 Clip the passenger air bag light andthe switch panel blank plates in tothe radio housing. (Figure C)

4 Attach Top and Middle Radio HousingClips to the back of the radio housing.(Figure D,E)NOTE: When the clips are properlyattached they should be on a 90degree angle with the radio housing.(Figure E)

Continue to kit assembly.

DIN MOUNT RADIO PROVISION WITH POCKET

Slide the DIN cage into the radio hous-ing and secure by bending the metallocking tabs outward. (Figure A)

Slide the aftermarket radio into the DINcage and until it snaps into place.(Figure B)

Snap the pocket into the radio housing.(Figure C)

Continue to final assembly.

ISO MOUNT RADIO PROVISION WITH POCKET

Mount the ISO Brackets to the radiousing the screws supplied with theradio. (Figure A)

Slide the radio into the radio housinguntil it snaps into place. (Figure B)

Snap the trim plate onto the front ofthe Radio Housing. (Figure B)

Snap the Pocket into the radio housing. (Figure C)

DOUBLE DIN/STACKED ISO MOUNT UNITS RADIO PROVISION

Cut and remove the center bar fromthe radio housing. (Figure A)

Snap the Double DIN brackets to theinside edge of the radio housing.(Figure B)

Slide the Double DIN or stacked ISOmount unit(s) into the bracket/radiohousing assembly and secure theunit(s) to the assembly using thescrews supplied with the unit(s). (Figure C)

Snap the double DIN trim plate ontothe front of the radio housing.(Figure C)

Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individ-ually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.)

Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.

Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly.

FINAL WIRING CONNECTIONS

Make wiring connections using the EIA color code chart shown below and the instructions included with thehead unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape. Isolate and

individually tape off ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.
