GETTING STARTED

Logging In To log into Symphony Airport Collaborative Decision Making Portal (A-CDM) Open a browser window. The site is optimized for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox since Internet Explorer is no longer supported by Microsoft. The Portal will run in Internet Explorer but the user may experience display and or other issues when using the site.

Navigate to the Symphony A-CDM login URL provided by Harris. https://kcvg.acdm.symphonycdm.com . The Symphony A-CDM Portal login page displays.

If this is the first time that you are logging into Symphony A-CDM Portal you may want to save the URL in your favorites. Additionally, the symphony A-CDM Portal will create a shortcut on your desktop.

Enter your username (email address) and password assigned to you by the site administrator at your airport, then click Sign In. If your username and password are incorrect, an error message displays and you are directed to try again or contact Symphony Support. For security reasons, do not share your username or password with other users. If others require access to the Symphony A-CDM Portal application, they may request individual credentials by contacting the site administrator. Once successfully logged on the user will reach the landing page which contains a summary of the current airport activity.

Window used to display relevant information about current airfield conditions such as runway closures, ground delays, weather information, etc…

Flights Table Summary

This section contains two separate but related tables. First the Flights Table lists all active arrivals, departures and diverted aircraft either to or from the airport.

Aircraft currently on approach to the airport

Aircraft that have left the gate and are in line for takeoff

Aircraft that have diverted from another airport

Aircraft that have diverted to a secondary airport

Flights Table Details

Click on the Flights table to open a detailed view of the table. By default the Arrivals table will open. The selected table is indicated by bold Blue text and a green underline. The table contains operation specific information which can be filtered, sorted and customized to meet the user’s needs. To customize the table settings click on the Gear icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.

The options window has two selection lists. On the left side is the Available Columns list which contains every available data column that can be displayed in the Flights table. On the right is the Selected Columns list which lists all current selected data columns.

To select an option from the Available Columns list just click the sign next to the particular item and it will move from the Available Columns to the Selected Columns list. In the Selected Columns list the user can change the column display order by clicking on the arrows next to the item to move it up or down the list. Clicking on the sign next to an item will move it from the Selected Columns list to the Available Columns list and remove that column from the data table display. Once the user has customized the table to their liking they can click on the CLOSE button to save the changes and return to the table.

Flights Table Filter

Click on the upside down triangle to activate the filters option in the top right hand corner of the screen. To input a filter just type an entry into the selected field. For example to see only flights operated by EDV (Endeavor Air) type EDV into the filter line below the ACID column header. To remove any active filters just delete the text in the corresponding filter field. Click on the upside down triangle again to close the filter list. A word of caution, any filters currently in place will remain once the filter dialogue box is closed.

Flights Table Sorting

To sort individual columns in the Flights Table, move the mouse over the column header below the Table Selection Bar. Notice that an up arrow appears to the right of the column header. Click on the arrow next to the column header of choice to sort the data in the table in descending alpha-numeric order based on the column selected.

Click on the reverse circle icon in the top right hand corner of the page to reset the table to the default settings and remove all filters and show only the default data columns.

Taxi Time Table Summary For airports that have surface data available either ASDE-X or ASSC, the taxi time table will populate and display information about the level of taxi delays currently being experienced on the airfield. They system will show both taxi-out (takeoff) and taxi-in (awaiting gate) delays. The Taxi Time Table highlights the current airfield congestion level, and places aircraft operations into time buckets to allow the user to monitor compliance with the FAA tarmac delay program and ensure that airplanes takeoff or reach a gate before triggering the three hour limit.

Taxi time is categorized into the following buckets:

Taxi time in excess of 120 minutes

Taxi time in excess of 90 minutes

Taxi time in excess of 60 minutes

Taxi time in excess of 30 minutes

Taxi Time Table Details

Click on the Taxi Time Table to open a detailed view of the table. By default the Taxi In table will open. The selected table is indicated by bold Blue text and a Green underline. Apps Page

Clicking on the Apps icon in the top left hand corner of the screen takes the user to the Apps launch page. This page contains all of the applications contained within the portal that the user currently has access to.

COMMUNICATE: The communicate App allows user to send, receive and monitor communication exchanges in real time in one or multiple user chat groups setup by the administrator. The message app allows for quick dissemination of information that can aid stakeholders during critical events like irregular operations during severe weather events.

To login to the portal simply click on the Communicate button to launch the app. The user will be presented with a login in screen. To access the app simply click on the LOGIN button.

First time users will have to register before they can access the Communication Hub. After creating a login and password the user should be able to access the Communication Hub.

Communication Hub The Communication Hub allows users to access all the available chat groups setup by the site administrator. Please note that some users may not have access to all chat groups. Accessibility is set by the user administrator and is based on an individual user’s permissions as established by the administrator. By default the Communication Hub displays all chat groups setup regardless of access permissions and the User Control Panel to the left side of the screen.

User Control Panel

This panel contains all the communication channels that you are currently subscribed to as well as the Direct Message feature. Direct Message allows you to send a private message to any user and this space also maintains a record of Direct Messages that is searchable. Lastly the User Control Panel has an expandable menu which allows the user to access their account details, edit their profile and change individual configuration settings. In addition the user can change their status to show their current availability to other users.

FLIGHTS: The Flights App gives users access to the same flight table data displayed on the landing page of the Portal. The data tabs include Arrivals, Departures, Divert To, Diverted From, Taxi In and Taxi Out.

MOBILEVUE: The MobileVue app allows users who have purchased a license to access the Symphony MobileVue app. The user is required to enter their login credentials to access MobileVue from the Portal.

NOTAM SEARCH: The NOTAM Search app allows users to view the FAA’s FNS NOTAM database and search for specific NOTAMs issued at any U.S. airport.

The landing page for the FNS NOTAM Search presents users with a search box from which they can start their query. By default the query is set to location (airport). Enter an airport ICAO or IATA code in the box and click on the Search button to return the search results.

The search results are returned in a Table and can be further filtered and sorted. The current data view “Table” is highlighted at the top of the page. The system is set to Table view by default.

To change the view to “List” click on the “List” view. “List” displays the data in an expanded format.

Click on “Map” view to change the view to display an Open Streets map with the geographic location of the NOTAMs.

To change the features displayed on the map click on the Options gear button on the right hand side of the menu adjacent to the map. Clicking on the box next to the option turns that selection On/Off on the map.

Return to the “Table” view by clicking on the “Table” view button on the menu bar. The print and export options are the same in every view. Just below the Change Search button users will find the following options: Export to PDF, Select all for Print and Download to Excel.

Export to PDF Select one or multiple NOTAMs to export to PDF by clicking on the corresponding button in the first column. Notice that as you select a particular NOTAM the selection button changes to Blue and the total number of NOTAMs to be exported is displayed in the selection option changes as shown below.

Select/Unselect all for Print Clicking on the Select all for Print button will select all the NOTAMs in the list, indicated by the individual NOTAM selection changing to Blue and the total in the Export to PDF button updates to reflect the selection. Clicking the adjacent Unselect all from Print button will unselect all NOTAMs.
