Robert, my first day back from vacation is July 10th but I have a large event to coordinate that day for PTRC.  If August 1st at 8 am works for Davidson then I’ll take the extra breathing room in the schedule.  If it is an urgent need let me know and we’ll work it in for July 11th.   Thanks, Matt

Hanner Subject: RE: Update on EMS study  Matt, Yesterday when we were discussing possible dates to present this report to the Commissioners, I think I told you that the Commissioners only meeting in July was on the 3rd and you advised me that you would be out of town during that week. I was incorrect. The Commissioners meeting in July will be on Thursday, July 11th at 8:00 a.m. By chase will this date work for you? If not I spoke with Chairman McClure this morning and he is ok with hearing the report on August 1st. Thank! Robert

Hanner Subject: RE: Update on EMS study  Matt, Sorry I was not able to meet with you yesterday (I was at the General Assembly with County Commissioners from across the state advocating for county issues). I just finished reviewing the draft and I didn’t see any real surprises from the data analysis. I’ll catch up with Larry and let him fill me in on your conversation with him yesterday. I look forward to seeing your recommendations for improving coverage. Do you have a time frame when they will be forthcoming? Thanks! Robert

From: Robert HyattSent: Wednesday, July 24, 2013 12:51 PMTo: Debbie HarrisSubject: update on santiation privatization proposal (agenda item)

As you are aware , Waste Industries has submitted a letter to the County withdrawing their proposal for providing sanitation collection services (see attached). Based on this action I was not sure if the Board wanted to discontinue efforts to privatize this service or to pursue other options. Santek who the County is currently negotiating with for the possible operation of the Landfill did submit a proposal for providing sanitation collection services, however their proposedpricing was significantly higher than the proposal of Waste Industries. The County is continuing to provide sanitation collection services and our operational cost as reflected in the recently approved 2013-14 budget is now below both of the proposals submitted by these private companies. My recommendation at this time is discontinue privatization efforts for the sanitation collection services.
