First of all I would like to thank each of you for your help, support, donations, participation and the confidence you have shown in me and my team in 2016. We have thoroughly enjoyed the journey in 2016, and we are very excited to serve you in 2017. Welcome to another year of journey with Team IAVA. Last year was a learning experience for me and my team, and we plan to take IAVA to the next level in 2017. This year we will are expending our reach in multiple areas with our main focus on 4 major areas: 1. Enhance the scale and quality of our existing and well established programs like Republic Day, Independence Day, Mother’s Day Picnic etc.

2. Focus more on health, fitness & sports (IAVA-FIT). We will go beyond running and Cricket by having programs like meditation, yoga, tennis etc. 3. Bring in special programs to help support the underprivileged in India (giving back to the homeland) via direct channels. The momentum we created last year energized many individuals to join team IAVA this year. In the forefront will be my Executive Committee to serve communities in RVA and beyond. We are thrilled by the response from the community to all our events in 2016, but the most exciting was a recent program “IAVA New Year Party.” 520+ of you joined us at one of the best location in town and welcomed 2017 under one roof!! Finally, as promised in 2016, we will continue to strengthen our initiative to be all inclusive, and in bringing all communities together. We will work collaboratively with all regional organizations and will continue to be the umbrella Indian organization that represents RVA on all major platforms. Where is Camping this year?

We are excited to announce that our most

sought event “IAVA Camping” has been booked

well 10 months in advance. Camping this year will

be on June 23 & 25, 2016 at First Landing State

Park at Virginia Beach. This 2,888 acre park

offers a wide range of activities for visitors. You

can go swimming, hiking, biking, boating, fishing,

or enjoy a picnic when you visit First Landing.

As the first planned state park of Virginia, First

Landing is listed on the National Register of His-

toric Places as Seashore State Park Historic Dis-

trict. A portion of the park is listed as a National

Natural Landmark as part of the Seashore Natural

Area.

So, mark your calendars for June 23- 25, 2017 and

be on the look out for communication from the

IAVA camping team on when the camping book-

ing begins. Oh Yaa.. you have to set your alarm

clock to register for this event as we sold out in
