67,500 days of a 9 month school year540,000 days of 8 years of school between the time their

menses commence to the time they complete their tertiary education.

This equals to 2000 years of academic hours lost! 

This is a sample of a population of over 100,000 girls who miss school because of lack of hygiene pads! With 100,000

girls, 133,000 years of academic hours are lost!

2011/12 RECIPIENTS (1,394)•Jomo Kenyatta Home for the Physically Disabled and Embu Urban Primary School in Embu (260 girls); •Brydges Centre Children’s Home, Isinya (35 girls);•Jomo Kenyatta Education Foundation Scholarship Program beneficiaries from around the country (50 girls);•Salama Primary School and Special Unit for the Intellectually Challenged, Mathare and Huruma (450 girls);•Eldoret Special School (60 girls); •Toi Primary School, Nairobi (250 girls);•Hot Springs Girls, Maai Mahiu (55 girls)•Through RCCs in Huruma (229 beneficiaries).
