Yeoval Central School is pleased to introduce the new Sunrise program, which will begin in the next few weeks.

The inten on of the program is to provide the opportunity for students in Years 9 to 12 to complete a completely free regular fitness program based on 2 sessions per week at the school. The sessions will be held at lunch me, or recess if other ac vi es are on during lunch on any given day. Please understand that this program is a 2 Term minimum commitment. It will involve some endurance and flexibility work to be completed at home in the students’ own me.

This program is about strength and fitness. Weight loss or gain can be a desired outcome, but it is not the sole purpose.

There will be a teacher supervising the twice weekly sessions, and the training program will be created in consulta on with the students by a qualified fitness trainer. Progress will be tracked through an online app created by this trainer.

Each 5 weeks, the trainer will visit the school and review the progress of each student. The program can be modified in intensity, frequency, and types of exercises. Basic advice on diet for exercise and wellbeing will be provided, but not to the extent of meal plans.

Students in Years 9 to 12 will apply to par cipate in the first round of the program and we will look in the future to expand the Sunrise Program to more students and year groups.

Mr Peasley and Mr Jones

Headspace is the Na onal Youth Mental Health Founda on dedicated to improving the wellbeing of young Australians. It provides early interven on mental health services for 12‐25 year olds.

The services can be accessed through Headspace centres and online counselling service eheadspace.

A representa ve of Headspace Dubbo is visi ng our school on Wednesday 29th March. They will meet with the students from Years 9‐12 at 2pm and offer an informal session for all parents and carers at 3.45pm.
