SD 50 CAN REPLACE SD 40 IN THE FOLLOWING WORKS

Tata Tiscon SD 50 is the new generation high strength reinforcement bar from Tata Steel (Thailand). Tata Tiscon SD 50 is produced using “Tempcore Process” which gives the best combination result of strength and ductility.

Tata Tiscon SD 50 rebars are produced through tempcore process wich increases high strength to the bar using the technique of thermomechanical treatment system (T.M.T). The microstructure of the bar consists of a combination of strong outer layer of tempered martensite and a ductile core of ferrite-pearlite. This is what gives Tata Tiscon SD 50 rebar an excellent quality for modern construction.

After a comparative study, it is found that projects designed with Tata Tiscon SD 50 use 15-20% less

amount of rebars than designed with SD 40 rebars.

In fact, the UTS and ductility being greater than speci�ed in the standard SD 40, the rebars ensure enhanced safety during earthquake. Due to higher UTS rebars acquire more bendability resulting in ease of work at site. The bent portion retains higher residual ductility.
