WORKING WITH ABODE™ COMPONENTSConfigurations

End Panels and Support LegsEach are available in two options: freestanding or panel-mount.The only difference between the two options are the panel-mount models come with a left- or right-handed bracket toattach the support to a panel in a systems application.

The 11′′D end panel is used to support peninsulas.

Corner Desk LegsCorner desk legs have a 90-degree bend and weldedconstruction. The strong construction allows gussets or half-height modesty panels to be used with corner legs.

Bridge KitsBridge kits include: two flat brackets, two modesty panel-to-endpanel attachment brackets, and two tie straps. This kit is usedwhen attaching a bridge unit between two rectangularworksurfaces.

Bridge KitHSDBK29

There are some bridge instances where only half of a bridge kit isneeded (e.g., using a bridge between a rectangular worksurfaceand a corner or peninsula). A return kit may be ordered for theseinstances.

Support ColumnSupport columns are used to support one end of curvilinearworksurfaces. Includes column, worksurface bracket kit HWSA2,attaching hardware, and adjustable glides.

Return KitsReturn kits include: one flat bracket, one modesty panel-to-endpanel attachment bracket, and one tie strap. These are usedwhen attaching a return to a primary desk. Return kits can alsobe used in some bridge applications — one example is shownbelow when using a peninsula.

Desk-to-Panel Attachment KitsDesk-to-panel attachment kits are used to connect aworksurface and modesty panel perpendicular to a panel ofcorresponding width. Opposing end of worksurface must beattached with an end panel, support leg, or corner leg mounteddirectly under this worksurface.

When using a corner or corner cove worksurface with the rearcorner attached to a panel, and opposing end of worksurface isattached to a freestanding desk, use corner w/desk attachmentkit. Hand of unit is determined from the user’s side of the desk(right-hand unit attaches to right side of modesty).

Modesty PanelsThe following are some general guidelines for Abode™ modestypanels:

• Desk: Modesty panel width is the same width as theworksurface

• Return: Modesty panel width is 6′′ greater than the width ofthe worksurface

• Bridge connecting two rectangular worksurfaces:Modesty panel width is 12′′ greater than the width of thebridge worksurface

• Bridge connecting a rectangular worksurface and corner orpeninsula:Modesty panel width is 6′′ greater than the width of theworksurface

• Corner connecting to an adjacent worksurface:Modesty panel width is the same width as the worksurface.

Stand-Alone Corner Modesty PanelsStand-alone corner modesty panels are used only when one orboth sides of a corner or corner cove worksurface arefreestanding and NOT attached to another worksurface. Specifythe width the same as the width of the worksurface.
