ABOUT ARSUTORIA SCHOOLARSUTORIA is the world leading school for shoes and bags professionals.

We strongly believe that a career in the field of bags must be funded on a deep knowledge of the product: materials and components, technical constructions, manufacturing and engineering techniques.

ARSUTORIA is the only school based in a fashion capital with an internal sample room where students of the 10 week pattern making and prototyping course can manufacture their prototypes.

With students from over 50 countries we offer all courses in English. Average age of our students is 25. Most of them already have a working experience. More than 50% of them are sponsored by a company. Therefore, we offer only short courses.

A large portion of our students aim at creating their own brand. Part of them already have a family manufacturing business. Although part of our students already has an experience in the field, our courses start from the fundamentals. Thanks to the intensity of the program, students always achieve more than they expected.

All our teachers are professionals with a significant working experience in prestigious companies. Their heritage is in design and manufacturing of quality shoes and bags. Our students work in companies with different target prices. We teach them

how to match their pricing requirements while keeping high quality standards.

The school is located near the center town of Milan. We offer accommodation in apartments located in the same building of the school.

Since 2015 ARSUTORIA school is certified ISO9001 and it is accredited for technical training.

OBJECTIVESThe pattern engineer is the technician who translates ideas into products. ARSUTORIA teaching methodology is based on a key assumption: pattern making techniques are fundamental both to technicians and designers

At the end of the course students will be able to:

• understand which construction should be chosen to produce a bag based on its design and materials. Assembling constructions include: stitched and turned with or without piping, raw edge, folded, box, strip on bottom and gusset, briefcase

• make patterns of the external body of the bag, lining, reinforcements and details (e.g. flaps, pockets, ring holders, handles, closing systems, etc.) according to the following sequence of styles: shoulder strap bags, totes, bucket bags, Boston trunk, drawstring, business/briefcases, Bugatti styles, frame clutches, bags with darts and pleats

• be familiar with materials such as leathers, synthetics and fabrics

• comprehend reinforcements (microfibers, bonded leather, nylon, foam etc..) and their uses according to the design and external materials

• perform sample making operations such as cutting, skiving, splitting, gluing, backing, stitching, edge painting, cleaning

• interact with the experienced technicians who will join the main instructor during the course
