ABSTRACT CORRELATION BETWEEN PARASITE DENSITY WITH PLATELET COUNT IN MALARIA PATIENT IN HANURA PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER WORKING AREA PESAWARAN DISTRICT By Km. Allan Wahyu Permana Background: Malaria is diseases transmitted by Anopheles sp. malaria is caused by plasmodium infection, malaria infection causes change in hematology, one of which is the platelet count caused by immune mediated platelet destruction, splenomegaly, platelet aggregation and oxidative stress. This research aims to determine the correlation between parasite density and platelet count in malaria patient in the work area of Hanura Health Center. Method: This study is an analytic study using observational methode with a total of 38 subject. the consecutive sampling technique used in this study. the data collected then processed with sofware using Pearson correlation test Result: 38 subjects obtained an average number of parasite density was 4.088,61 parasite/μL, and the average of platelet count was 88.434,21/μL. Pearson correlation test shows that there is significant correlation between parasitic density and platelet count (p=<0.05) and the correlation coefficient r = -0,581 Conclusion: There is a negative correlation between parasite density and platelet count in malaria patient in Hanura Public Health Center working area Pesawaran District Keyword: Malaria, Parasite density, Platelet count.

ABSTRAK

KORELASI ANTARA KEPADATAN PARASIT DENGAN JUMLAH

HITUNG TROMBOSIT PADA PENDERITA MALARIA DI WILAYAH

KERJA PUSKESMAS HANURA KABUPATEN PESAWARAN

Latar Belakang: Malaria merupakan salah satu penyakit ditularkan oleh gigitan

nyamuk Anopheles sp. Penyakit malaria disebabkan oleh infeksi parasit dalam

genus plasmodium, infeksi malaria menyebabkan perubahan pada hematologi

salah satunya jumlah trombosit yang disebabkan oleh penghancuran yang

dimediasi sistem imun, splenomegali, agregasi trombosit, dan stress oksidatif.

Penelitiain ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kepadatan parasit

dengan jumlah hitung trombosit pada penderita malaria di wilayah kerja

Puskesmas Hanura.

Metode: Penelitian merupakan penelitian analitik ini menggunakan metode

observasional dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 38 subjek dengan teknik

pengambilan consecutive sampling. data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan

peranti lunak menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson.

Hasil: 38 subjek penelitian didapatkan rata-rata angka kepadatan parasit pada

subjek penderita malaria adalah 4.088,61 parasit/μL dan rerata jumlah

trombositnya 88.434,21/μL. dari uji korelasi Pearson menunjukan adanya korelasi

yang bermaksan antara kepadatan parasit dengan jumlah hitung trombosit

(p=<0,05) dan koefisien korelasi r=-0,581.

Kesimpulan: Terdapat korelasi yang bernilai negatif antara kepadatan parasit

dengan jumlah hitung trombosit pada penderita malaria kerja puskesmas Hanura

Kabupaten Pesawaran
