• Created in May 2008, the Higher Education and Research Consortium (called a PRES in the French law) "Clermont Université » is a public structure of scientific collaboration.

• It was founded by 5 institutions: * the University of Auvergne (UdA), * the University Blaise Pascal (UBP)* the National Superior School of Chemistry of Clermont-Ferrand (ENSCCF)* the French Institute of Advanced Mechanics (IFMA) * VetAgro Sup, the graduate institute for food, animal health, angronomic and environmental sciences

The aim of this consortium is to ensure the visibility and attractiveness of the university site at an international level.

• Since the July 2013 law (loi n°2013-660) this consortium became a CUE (else called COMMUE): Community of universities and establishments.
