•ACICIS arranges visas, orientation, and placement at Indonesian universities.
•Operates from a small Secretariat at Murdoch University, Perth.
•Employs a full-time Australian academic Resident Director to manage the programs in Indonesian.
• So far there have been more than 1,500 participating students (since 1995).
•Provides an opportunity to put academic study into practice, to learn in a cross-cultural context.
•No better way to develop competence in a language than studying in that community.
•Allows you to gain attributes which are attractive to future employers (e.g. broad-minded, internationally aware and adaptable).
•Multi-lingual skills will assist in a growing international demand for cross-country cooperation.

You can rent a house, a room in a “homestay,” or a room in a kos
(student hostel).
ACICIS staff provide help and information, but students are
responsible for finding their own accommodation.
This is not difficult as plenty of student accommodation is available.
Accommodation options are relatively inexpensive by Australian standards.
Where will you live?

Kos comes from the Dutch word “indekos” meaning boarding house.
The majority of students choose to stay in a kos surrounded by Indonesian students, as it gives them constant opportunities for
language practice and learning.
Price varies greatly depending on what sort of facilities you are after (i.e. share
bathroom/own bathroom, wireless access, air-con/fan etc). Anywhere between
Rp. 200,000 - Rp. 1.5 million/month (~AU$28 - AU$215/month).

We give students accurate, up-to-date information, but ACICIS
students are not like tourists.
