You can rent a house, a room in a “homestay,” or a room in a kos

(student hostel).

ACICIS staff provide help and information, but students are

responsible for finding their own accommodation.

This is not difficult as plenty of student accommodation is available.

Accommodation options are relatively inexpensive by Australian standards.

Where will you live?

Kos comes from the Dutch word “indekos” meaning boarding house.

The majority of students choose to stay in a kos surrounded by Indonesian students, as it gives them constant opportunities for

language practice and learning.

Price varies greatly depending on what sort of facilities you are after (i.e. share

bathroom/own bathroom, wireless access, air-con/fan etc). Anywhere between

Rp. 200,000 - Rp. 1.5 million/month (~AU$28 - AU$215/month).
