•  How  the  compe6tors  of  your  brand  found  you  on  Web  and  told  you  that  there  is  50%  off  for  few  days.  Wouldn’t  you  visit  this  website  and  buy  a  similar  product  to  your  brand?  

Factors  that  determine  which  ads  you  will  see  on  GDN  •  Content  of  the  site  (  Google  allows  ads  based  on  contextual  targe6ng:  keywords  and  topics  )  

•  Recent  Geographic  Loca6on  •  Google  Plus  and  You  Tube  profile  •  Websites  and  apps  that  are  using  AdSense  •  Types  of  websites  you  visit  •  Mobile  apps  on  your  devices  •  Previous  interac6ons  with  Google  Ads  •  DoubleClick  cookie  on  your  Browser  •  Se#ngs  in  the  Ads  Se#ngs  

What  is  “Ads  Settings”?  •  It  is  a  Google  tool  that  helps  you  control  the  ads  on  Google  and  Google  Ads  Across  the  Web

What  can  you  do  with  Ad  Settings?  

•  Discover  why  you  see  these  ads  lately  

•  Choose  ads  that  might  be  more  relevant  to  you  

•  Block  specific  adver6sers  

•  Opt  out  interest  targeted  ads

Changing  your  Ads  Settings    •  Gender  and  Age  can  be  changed  if  you  visit  your  Google  Profile  

Adding  New  Interest  Categories  

•  Click  Edit  next  to  Interest  SeWngs  and  add  Interest  Categories  you  like  as  shown  in  the  next  slide  

•  Then  type  your  interest  category  in  the  box  and  press  Add  to  add  it

Deleting  Interest  Categories  •  Click  Edit  next  to  Interest  SeWngs  and  delete  Interest  Categories  by  clicking  the  X  next  to  the  category  as  shown  below.  

Opting  Out  of  Interest-­‐based  Google  ads    •  If  you  select  to  Opt  Out  of  Interest-­‐based  Google  ads  you  will  see  this  message  

•  However,  this  is  not  recommended  since  you  might  lose  ads  that  you  are  actually  interested  in  

•  Instead,  change  your  ads  seWngs  in  order  to  see  more  relevant  ads
