• la mole is geographically situated in the opening-up peninsula of saint-tropez, an area usually difficult to acces by road or rail.
• With only ten km’s to the coast, la mole seves all the resorts of the corniche des maures, from le lavandou to saint-tropez.
• coming from toulon by the rd 98, stay on this road leaving for the d 559, approximately 6 km’s before le lavandou (attention to turn left direction of la mole).
• coming from the direction of sainte-maxime, leave the road on the sea front d 559 at the large island «la Foux» follow the rd 98, direction cogolin and continue to follow the signs for la mole.

•Au niveau local, il participe efficacement au désenclavement de la presqu’île de saint-tropez, difficile d’accès par les moyens de transports terrestres habituels (route ou rail).
•À une dizaine de kilomètres à peine du bord de mer ; il peut desservir toutes les stations balnéaires de la corniche des maures, du lavandou à saint-tropez.
•En venant de Toulon par la rd 98, rester sur cette rd en quittant la route du bord de mer (d 559), 6km environ avant le lavandou (attention «tourner à gauche» direction la mole mal signalé).
•En venant de Sainte-Maxime, quitter la route du bord de mer (d 559) au grand giratoire de la Foux en poursuivant sur la rd 98, direction cogolin et suivre la flèche «la mole».

Cos d’Estournel fut fondé en 1811 par Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel. Son Vin au goût puissant et suave devint très vite un favori des tables impériales et royales. Il s’exporta jusqu’aux Indes. C’est pour commémorer ces lointaines expéditions que Louis Gaspard fit édifier en 1830 les célèbres pagodes qui abritent le chai. Aujourd’hui, Cos d’Estournel appartient aux Domaines Reybier. Michel Reybier et sa famille ont lié leur nom au terroir de Cos d’Estournel en 2000.Entre Pauillac et Saint-Estèphe, séparée de Château Lafite Rothschild par la «Jalle» du Breuil, la colline de Cos domine la Gironde de près de vingt mètres. Impressionnant amoncellement de graves du quaternaire dont le nom même indique la nature (Cos signifie en vieux gascon «colline de cailloux»), les 90 hectares de ce terroir exemplaire permettent aux cépages de Cabernet Sauvignon et Merlot de tirer le meilleur parti du microclimat atlantique tempéré par le fleuve.Quelques pas dans les vignes de Cos d’Estournel suffisent à se faire une idée de la passion avec laquelle ce vignoble est travaillé. Une quarantaine de vignerons et vigneronnes ont pour mission de tailler, lier et effeuiller ces vignes qui seront ensuite vendangées à la main.Cos d’Estournel est devenu, aux yeux des Amateurs de Grands Vins, l’archétype d’un certain style d’élégance virile où la puissance n’exclut ni la grâce ni la Suavité.Impressionnant dans sa jeunesse par l’intensité de sa structure et l’éclat de son fruit, le vin de Cos d’Estournel évolue lentement pour atteindre à sa complète maturité, entre 10 et 30 ans, un fondu et une complexité aromatique admirables.

histoire et origine de la molethe history and origins of la mole
Cette petite Iocalité se situe au confluent de deux vallées où coulent la Mole et la Verne. elle était déjà habitée au temps des romains et l’on y a retrouvé certains vestiges de tombeaux en briques et des constructions de cette époque. Après leur expulsion, un village fut bâti sur la colline sainte madeleine (ou magdeleine). une charte de 1008 le désigne sous le nom de «Ad molam», tiré d’une fabrique de meules à mains (mola manuaria). on trouve ensuite «castrum de mola» et «mola» en 1079. la seigneurie dépend alors de l’abbaye saint-victor de marseille.
Anecdote : en 1308, après 48 incendies le village est reconstruit dans la plaine. Au xviième siècle, la seigneurie appartient à la famille des suffren. en 1728, on recense sept chefs de famille à la mole. en 1851, le village comptait 404 habitants, aujourd’hui il en abrite 800.

the legend of saint-tropez tells of the christian centurion torpés, decapitated at the order of the néron emperor, he was put in a boat and delivered to the flood wlth a cock and a dog. it was thought that the animals would attack and devour the corpse but they left the body intact. the boat turned up at the coast on the exact site of what was to become tropés later the village of saint-tropez.international star of tourism, saint-tropez played an important part in the creation of the riviera. When the artistic and intellectual Parisians started to descend on saint-tropez in the 1950’s they were bewitched by the charm of the small port.A myth was created with the arrival of Brigitte Bardot in the sixties its fate was sealed and it. Has slnce become one of the most preferred destinations of the rich and famous wlth boots competing for glamour and status and guests being ferried in by helicopter. on the busy café terraces the objective is to «see and be seem».on the Port the yachts jostling for importance are inhabited by outrogeously beautiful creatures who descend into the night to the awe of the watching crowds. on the culinary side, «la place aux Herbes», offers fruit, flowers, vegetables and freshly caught fish sold by «Pescadous».

la légende de saint-tropez raconte que le centurion chrétien torpès, décapité par ordre de néron, fut mis dans une barque et livré aux flots avec un coq et un chien, ceux-ci auraient dû le dévorer mais ils laissèrent son corps intact. la barque aurait alors abordé la côte à l’emplacement exact de ce qui allait devenir par déformation du nom torpès, le village de saint-tropez.
Naissance d’un mythestar internationale du tourisme, saint-tropez a contribué à la renommée de la côte d’Azur : dès 1950, quand le monde artistique et intellectuel parisien, envoûté par le charme du petit port, descendait à «Saint-Trop» : Le mythe était né. Avec l’arrivée de Brigitte Bardot dans les années 60, il s’est accentué, depuis saint-tropez est devenu la destination préférée du tout-Paris mondain et de la jet internationale, plusieurs fêtes privées ont lieu chaque soir dans les luxueuses villas du golfe où certains des convives arrivent même en hélicoptère.Aux terrasses des cafés, l’objectif des visiteurs est de voir et d’être vu, sur le port, les gigantesques yachts rivalisent, par leur taille, leur équipage et les superbes créatures qui s’y montrent. la place aux Herbes offre, fruits fleurs, légumes et, poissons fraîchement péchés par les «Pescadous».
