This report covers the activities carried out by the EuroMed Youth Centre
between January 1st 2015 and December 31
st 2015, as well as activities which
are being planned for the forthcoming year.

I. Activities in 2015
January, 2015
The second issue of “Power of Sharing” E-journal, which aims to guide youth in
Antalya, make them heard, share their experiences, and make them aware of
different exchange programmes and EU opportunities, was published both in
English and Turkish.
We gave support to Göynük Science High School to prepare the Erasmus+ KA1
School Staff Mobility Project with the title “Improving ICT Skills in Science
Courses” with the support of the Akdeniz University EuroMed Youth Centre.
Out of a total of 1,658 project applications from Turkish schools, the application
from Göynük Science High School was one of only 93 accepted by the Turkish
National Agency. With a budget of 29,025 Euros, the teachers will be able to
attend four different courses in Italy, Spain and Malta.

February, 2015
The 1st Executive Board Meeting of 2015 of the EuroMed Youth Centre was
held on February 12th 2015. Prof. Dr. Burhan ÖZKAN, Advisor to Rector and
Head of International Relations Office, attended the meeting. Executive
Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlhan GÜNBAYI, executive board members Assoc.
Prof. Dr Bayram BIÇAK, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bekir DİREKÇİ, Lecturer Özhan
Nebi SOYSAL, and Expert Nurgül BÜYÜKKALAY took part in the board
meeting. Also taking part were former Executive Director Assoc. Prof. Dr.
Mehmet CANBULAT, Educational Advisor Rabia VEZNE, and the Centre’s
accountant Expert Dilek Hale AYBAR.

Director Prof. Dr. GÜNBAYI organized training on classroom management,
efficient teaching techniques and learning methods for the academic personnel
of Finike Vocational School on February 14th
and 15th 2015 in our Centre.

March, 2015
Under the Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service Programme, Akdeniz
University recently took part in a cooperative venture with the Bloom
Foundation from Holland. Our Centre hosted 10 volunteers and 2 coaches who
were responsible for implementing a recycling workshop for a limited period.
The main themes of the project were Social Inclusion and the Environment, and
all the volunteers had experienced educational or social obstacles between the
ages of 18 and 30.
April, 2015
Educational Advisor Rabia Vezne and Nurgül Büyükkalay, member of
Executive Board, attended “Activation Policy and Youth Employment:
Competences in our hands” Training Course for youth workers. The CVC-RCM
Regional Youth Centre organised the training course with a grant from the
Slovakian National Agency. The Akdeniz University EuroMed Youth Centre is
the sending partner in this Project which was held on 12-19 April, 2015 in
Kysak, Slovakia.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security announced that “Make a Difference,
Add a Value to the Local” under the terms of the grant scheme ‘Promoting
Youth Employment in Sectoral Investment Areas (PYE II)’ with a budget of
248,031.35 Euros was granted in May, 2015.
Director Prof. Dr. GÜNBAYI organized “Quantitative Data Analysis Program
Workshop-1” for young researchers who want to do research on youth work or
other fields on April 18th and 19th 2015. 4 young researchers who were
interested in doing research attended to the training.

May, 2015
The Akdeniz University International Staff Week was organized under the terms
of the Erasmus+ Programme Individual Learning Mobility from May 6th to 8th
2015. During the programme the staff visited our Centre and took information
about our activities.
We celebrated European Youth Day on 9th of May 2015 with staff from other
European universities who attended Akdeniz University International Staff

Week. Dr. Michael A.Rupp from EU Delegation also attended the European
Youth Day. Prof. Dr. Burhan ÖZKAN gave Dr. Rupp information about the
activities of EuroMed Youth Centre.
The official papers of the “Make a Difference, Add a Value to the Local”
Project was sent to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to be signed on
May 13th
2015.
Prof. Dr. İlhan GÜNBAYI was invited to the 6th Platform Meeting of Platform
of European Youth Centres was held on May 12th
and 15th 2015 in Sremski
Karlovci, Serbia. Director Prof. Dr. GÜNBAYI represented Akdeniz University
EuroMed Youth Centre. During the event, various aspects of how to manage
youth centres were presented.

July, 2015
The third issue of E-Journal “Power of Sharing” has been published in both
Turkish and in English. In this magazine, young people who have participated in
the Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi Exchange Programmes, as well as EVS and
Youth in Action Programmes, have the opportunity to share their European
experiences.
August, 2015
“EDUCAtional THEatre; a place promoting inclusion and employability for
People with Disabilities - EDUCATHE+”. This is a KA2 Adult Education
Strategic Partnership Project in which the Akdeniz University EuroMed Youth
Centre is a partner, and which enjoys the support of the International Relations
Office. It is funded by the Croatian National Agency. EDUCATHE+ is a
partnership of eight partners from six EU member states, and one partner
country. Together they will strive to improve the employment prospects of
people with disabilities (PWD) through use of educational theatre. This method
enables us to empower people with disabilities by developing their Key

Competences, sharing old and developing new methods, and enhancing the
visibility of people with disabilities who are usually left on the margins of the
labour market due to prejudice. The partnership will last 2 years, and is made up
of 8 organizations from 7 different countries including Croatia, Turkey,
Belgium, Latvia, Italy, Bulgaria, and Greece.
September, 2015
Council of Europe organised “1st Training Course for Staff of Youth Centres"
taking place in the European Youth Centre Budapest, Hungary from 29
September to 2 October 2015.
The Training Course aimed to develop the competence of staff to integrate
Human Rights based approach within the educational programmes of individual
centres participating in the Council of Europe Quality Label project.
October, 2015
Prof. Dr. İlhan Günbayı, Executive Director of EuroMed Youth Centre,
organized “Quantitative Data Analysis Program Workshop-3” for young
researchers who wants to do research on youth work or other fields between 10-
11 October 2015.
November, 2015

Zagreb between November 16th and 22nd 2015 with the participation of 8
organizations from 7 different countries including Croatia, Turkey, Belgium,
Latvia, Italy, Bulgaria, and Greece.

III. Planned Activities
We will employ a project assistant who will be in Adrasan and work for “Make a
Difference, Add a Value to the Local” project between March 2016 and
February 2017.
The fourth edition of the E-Journal “Power of Sharing” will be published in
January.
In the first round of applications for 2016 Erasmus+ projects, we will submit
proposals for new projects in February, April, and October 2016.
