Summary

This report covers the activities carried out by the EuroMed Youth Centre

between January 1st 2017 and December 31st 2017, as well as activities which are

being planned for the forthcoming year.

I. Activities in 2017

January, 2017

30 trainees who completed the Cooking Training finished their 30-day internship

as a part of the project “Make a Difference, Add Value to Local” funded by

Ministry of Labour and Social Security as a part of Instrument for Pre-accession

Assistance (IPA).

The trainees who completed their training as a part of the project “Make a

Difference, Add Value to Local” got their certificates which are approved by

Kumluca Public Education Center.

February, 2017

With the partnership of Akdeniz University EuroMed Youth Centre, Educathe+

KA2 Adult Education Strategic Partnership Project’s 5th Theatre Workshop was

held in Athens/Greece between 30 January and 3 February 2017 with the

participation of Project Coordinator Rabia Vezne and disabled participant Ayfer

Sayit.

As a part of “Make a Difference, Add Value to Local” project, our instructors and

trainees prepared a la carte menus from vegetables and products which grows up

and can be found in Adrasan. “Adrasan’a Tat Kat” Day-II was organized in order

to disseminate different tastes and meals.

Second of our Agro-Tourism Seminars was held with the participation of students

from Akdeniz University Göynük Culinary Vocational School, Akdeniz

University Faculty of Tourism and Kumluca District Governor Dr. Polat Kara as

a part of “Make a Difference, Add Value to Local” project. The seminar was

presented for people who is working in the tourism field in order to raise

awareness about Agro-Tourism. The products produced in Ecological Product

Development was also exhibited in the “Ecological Product Development

Training Exhibition”.

5 days of KOSGEB entrepreneurship course was given to the 30 trainees who

took part in the Ecological Product Development Training in order to help them

start their own business, start an enterprise and conduct a business plan. The aims

of this course were supporting the entrepreneurial skills of them and helping

young entrepreneurs about employability opportunities.

Trainees who completed the Ecological Product Development Training as a part

of “Make a Difference, Add Value to Local” project visited the institution named

“Çöp(m)adam” which helps local woman in Ayvalık.

“Make a Difference, Add Value to Local” project funded by Ministry of Labour

and Social Security as a part of Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA)

organised a closing meeting in a boutique hotel at Adrasan with the participation

of instructors and trainees.

Educathe+ KA2 Adult Education Strategic Partnership Project’s closing meeting

was held in Zagreb/Croatia between 14 and 15 September 2017.

October, 2017

An art event as a part of the project “Akdeniz University of Arts without

Disabilities” started by our centre was held in Antalya Sevgi Evleri Orphanage

under the umbrella of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies. Students from

Akdeniz University Faculty of Education and Faculty of Literature participated in

the project. They helped the kids to use paints and various materials.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nihal Kubilay Pınar, executive director of our Centre, talked about

the project “Akdeniz University of Arts without Disabilities” on TRT Antalya

Radio.

A social responsibility project called “Describe Me Counting” was started with

the collaboration of our Centre and Faculty of Education Department of Pre-

School Education. Also, a workshop named “Montessori and Mathematics” was

held in Faculty of Education in order to introduce pre-school students to the fun

and magical world of mathematics. The project also made it possible for Faculty

of Education Department of Pre-School Education students to have a unique

experience.

December, 2017

“Montesorri and Mathematics” training for the ages of 5-6, was organised at

Antalya Özgecan Aslan Youth Centre as a part of the social responsibility project

named “Akdeniz University of Arts without Disabilities” which was held by

Faculty of Education Department of Pre-School Education.

Certificate of participation was given to the attendees by the Akdeniz University

Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ünal as a part of the social responsibility project named

“Akdeniz University of Arts without Disabilities”.

Certificate Ceremony was held at Akdeniz University Senate Hall with the

participations of Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Unal, Faculty of

Fine Arts Dean Prof. Dr. Osman Eravşar, EuroMed Youth Centre Executive

Director Asst. Prof. Nihal Kubilay, Expert Rabia Vezne, students and

representatives from Dr. Günseli-Dr. Bülent Akınsal Vocational Education

Center.
