Why not try going for a lunchtime jog?
A three mile jog is feasible in half an hour. There are a number of routes close to the Easter Bush Campus. Marked on the map, you can see a suggested 3.5 mile route, or there is a longer 4.5 mile route.
Regional Cycle Route 73
This route runs through East Lothian, from Pencaitland, Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg and Lasswade towards Penicuik and beyond. The path is a semi urban and rural railway path with a few gentle hills, but mainly flat on tarmac and gravel. The route can be muddy.

Cycling Information
Walking Information
Cycling is a cheap, quick and healthy way to get around.
How to travel to the Easter Bush CampusYou can plan your cycle route by using an online cycle planner or cycle maps of Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Finding a cycle routeThere are many cycle routes for you to choose from depending on where you live.
The cycle routes displayed on this map are a guide only. Some of the routes involve some off road sections or steep gradients. Due consideration should be given to weather and track conditions during the winter months. A mountain bike is recommended for off road routes.

www.cyclestreets.net
Parking your bikeThere are bike racks, sheltered bike parking and a secure bike store at the Easter Bush Campus.
Showers and changing facilitiesShowers and changing facilities are available in each of the buildings on the Easter Bush Campus. To find out what facilities are available, ask at the relevant reception.
Fixing your bikeIf your bike needs to be fixed at the Easter Bush Campus, a toolkit is available for free at the Campus Service Centre. It contains useful items such as a puncture repair kit, a pump, spare inner tubes and a variety of tools. Also look out for the Dr Bike sessions on Campus.

Walking is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air. There is no need to substitute walking for all journeys, but there are many ways in which you could walk at least part of a journey. Alternatively you could incorporate walking into your lunch break or after work.
If you walk briskly it takes 15 minutes to walk one mile.
Why not try walking to:
› Bilston: It's only half a mile away and will take you about 8 minutes if you walk briskly.
› Roslin: It's less than 2 miles from the Easter Bush Campus and will take you about 30 minutes.
Lunchtime walksHave you considered a lunchtime walk? You could try walking around the Bush Estate. You could walk on the various paths around the Bush Estate in half an hour, burning approximately 150 calories. Or you could try:
› Roslin Glen is particularly scenic and only 2.5 miles from the Easter Bush Campus.
› Castlelaw Hill in the Pentland Hills are no more than 5 minutes away in the car. You could drive with some friends to the hills for a walk in your lunchtime!
