3. They conquered the Peninsula except the northen mountains where the Christians took refuge. 4. Al-Andalus

They called their conquered territory Al-Aldalus.

5. In the 10 thcentury Al-Andalus became a Caliphate, independent from Arabia. 6. Its capital was Cordoba. 7. Al-Andalus

During this time, there were some important cities like Seville, Cordoba and Granada

9. The Muslims introduce inventions like irrigation and some crops like rice and cotton.. 10. Al-Aldalus

In the 11 thcentury, the Taifa kingdoms were founded after the Caliphate was divided into different territories.
