Feathery Facts:

1) Scientists believe that birds evolved from "theropod" dinosaurs. These were dinosaurs with hollow bones and three-

toed limbs.

2) Some bird species are intelligent enough to create and use tools.

3) The Ostrich is the largest bird in the world. It also lays the largest eggs and can reach a top running speed of around

90 kilometres per hour.

4) The chicken is the most common species of domestic bird found in the world.

5) Hummingbirds can fly backwards.

Complete both Activities:

Activity One: Click onto the link below and choose which realistic bird you would like to draw and colour. Follow the

tutorial step by step, pausing it as much as you need to. Send me your finished piece on Dojo or Padlet

Activity Two: ‘Birdseed Bread’ Here's a quick and easy way to make bread for you and your family, using the sorts of seeds that many birds love. Ask an adult to help, if you need to!

Ingredients:

1 x 500g tub Natural Yoghurt (Full Fat or Fat Free)

425g Porridge Oats

1 teaspoon bread soda

1 level teaspoon Salt

1 tablespoon of each: Sesame, Poppy, Sunflower, & Pumpkin Seeds. You can also use 4 tablespoons of just one type of seed if that's your favourite!

How to: 1) After you’ve asked your parent/guardian if it’s ok to use the oven, preheat it to 180°C/Gas 4.

2) Grease and line a 900g/2lb loaf tin.

3) Put the yoghurt into a large mixing bowl.

4) Add the oats, bread soda, salt & seeds and mix well until a thick dough is formed.

5) Transfer to the prepared tin.

6) Smooth the top with the back of spoon.

7) Place in the centre of the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until risen and golden brown.

8) Leave in the tin for 5 minutes then turn onto a wire tray to cool.

9) Enjoy!

Busy At Maths Tutorial Links (I will also share these on Padlet for the kids to click into on their own

devices, they must watch tutorial first and then complete activities independently)

anything difficult please do not stress, send me a message on Dojo. CJ Fallon have parent home support pages

also, and the teacher’s manual is available to parents with tips on ‘how to’ teach difficult concepts.
