REMEMBRANCE DAY—NOVEMBER 11 Our Senior Leaders led our morning St Paul’s Remembrance Day tribute on Monday morning. Each year on Remembrance Day, November 11 we remember all those who served and sacrificed during times of war and in peacekeep-ing operations in recent decades. Remembrance Day has a special significance in 2018. Sunday, 11 November 2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). One hundred years ago, on this day, the war on the Western Front ended after four years of continuous warfare. German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. In the four years of the war more than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them had died. Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

Remembrance Prayer for Children We remember those who stood for love and truth, And thank you for the sacrifice they made for me and you. Thank you that we can now enjoy peace and learn to love not fight, Thank you that we can now sing and play, and not be scared or hide.

We pray for other countries where children live in fear, And there is war and fighting and many are in tears. Please help to make things better, and bring some peace to them. Protect all those who try and help to make friends again.

Amen. BABY NEWS Mrs Laura Dzanovski our former PE teacher on the safe arrival of little girl, Isla. Mrs Stefanie Marin and her husband Joe who have announced they are expecting their first baby in April Congratulations to the Ali family (Mahmoud 3/4 T & Sienna 1/2 B) on the arrival baby Ali.

Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility.

Saint Paul’s has had an important couple of weeks exploring ways to be safe. On the 26th of October we participated in the Day for Daniel to raise awareness of keeping safe.

Day for Daniel – children talked about and wrote down five people they could go to if they felt unsafe.

The Junior classes had a visit from our local crossing supervisors Neil, Erica and Steve from Moreland Council and delivered

a fun and interactive session on issues regarding road safety.

We are seeking costumes / dress-ups that are in good condition, but no longer needed at home. Please

drop of any costumes to the office – they will find a good home in the Passive Play area.
