TRANSCRIPT
Worship Leader: Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is
good; for His steadfast love endures forever!
ALL: Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”
WL: Let the house of Aaron say, “His steadfast love endures
forever.”
ALL: Let those who fear the LORD say, “His steadfast love
endures forever.”
WL: The LORD--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--calls you to
Himself this day.
ALL: Thanks be to God.
Our gracious God and King, we approach Your throne in
humble confidence to confess our sins to You. Father, we
confess that we too often rejoice in our own strength and
see it as sufficient instead of resting and rejoicing in Your
power. When we receive the desire of our hearts we fail to
consider that You are the Giver of every good and perfect
gift.
Forgive us for promoting and seeking our own glory at the
expense of Yours. We know that our sin deserves Your
wrath, and so we confess our sins in the name of Jesus
Christ, our Savior, who has atoned for all of our sins and has
made us righteous in Your sight. By the power of the Holy
Spirit, who dwells in us, sanctify us into the image of Christ,
that we might know more fully the beauty of our King.
Amen.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy
kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as
we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory forever. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
8 Now, therefore, thus you shall say to my servant David,
‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture,
from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my
people Israel.
9 And I have been with you wherever you went and have cut
off all your enemies from before you. And I will make for
you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the
earth.
10 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will
plant them, so that they may dwell in their own place and be
disturbed no more. And violent men shall afflict them no
more, as formerly,
11 from the time that I appointed judges over my people
Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies.
Moreover, the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make
you a house.
12 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your
fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall
come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He
shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the
throne of his kingdom forever.
14 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son.
When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod
of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, 15 but my
steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul,
whom I put away from before you.
16 And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure
forever before me. Your throne shall be established
forever.’” 17 In accordance with all these words, and in
accordance with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.
2 Samuel 7:8-17 ESV
1 O Lord, in your strength the king rejoices,
and in your salvation how greatly he exults!2 You have given him his heart’s desire
and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah3 For you meet him with rich blessings;
you set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
4 He asked life of you; you gave it to him,
length of days forever and ever.5 His glory is great through your salvation;
splendor and majesty you bestow on him.6 For you make him most blessed forever;
you make him glad with the joy of your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the Lord,
and through the steadfast love of the Most High
he shall not be moved.8 Your hand will find out all your enemies;
your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 You will make them as a blazing oven
when you appear.
The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
and fire will consume them.10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
and their offspring from among the children of man.
11 Though they plan evil against you,
though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.12 For you will put them to flight;
you will aim at their faces with your bows.13 Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength!
We will sing and praise your power.Psalm 21 ESV
