All the text you need for this question is in a file called Question 1 on my S drive

(S:\Classes\Keith McManus\GMP\Exam). Use this text rather than typing.

1. Create a new document and create a table as shown below (ensure that it is on

the first line of the document).

2. Save this document, with the file name Assessment Details.

3. This is the data source

4. Create the document as shown on the next page; this is the main document.

5. Save the document with the file name Blank Result.

6. In Blank Result enter the following merge fields.

7. Insert the fields at the tab stops.

a. Insert the field <<Subject>> after the side heading Subject:.

b. Insert the field <<Date>> after the side heading Assessment Date:

c. Insert the field <<Class>> after the side heading Class:.

8. Merge the data with the form letter to create a mail merge document and save

it, with the file name Assignment Results.

Question 2 – Spreadsheets (20 marks)

1. Open a new spreadsheet and save it as Excel 1 <Your Name>

2. Rename Worksheet1 to Household Items and enter the following data, ensure

that the column B is formatted as Euro, and the headings are bold.

3. In cell D2 enter a formula which calculates the total cost of the 3 dishwashers.

Make sure that this formula is entered in such a way that it can be copied all

the way down column D to calculate the cost of each of the other items.

4. Insert a new row between the TV and the Sandwich Maker and enter the

following data: Music System, price €399, number 5.

5. Insert a header with your name and today’s date on it.

6. Insert a footer which gives the name of the file.

7. Insert the following information into the next worksheet and rename this

worksheet as Rainfall

13. Insert a PIE chart

14. Title the Chart “Rainfall (mm)”

15. Display the mm values next to each slice on the chart

16. Change the colour of the slices to patterns to ensure that they can be

distinguished on a black and white printer

17. Increase the font size of the legend and the chart title to 20pt.

18. Ensure the PIE chart is on a separate worksheet

Question 3 - Presentations (20 marks)

1. Copy the PowerPoint file Healthcare from the following location;

S:\Classes\Keith McManus\GMP\Exam to your H drive

2. Open the file and save it with the name Healthcare - <Your Name>.

E.g. Healthcare John Smith

3. On the first slide insert some clip art and a square which surrounds the title as

shown in Figure 1

4. Change the slide layout on slide four and Insert a piece of clip art so that the

slide looks something like figure 2 below

5. Adjust the size of the clip art to 5cm high

6. Apply the “Balance” design template to the presentation

7. Apply the “Box In” transition to all slides apart from slide 1

8. Set the speed of the transition to slow

9. Apply the “Float” animation scheme to slides 2 to 6

10. Apply custom animation to the three elements on the title slide (title, clip art

and square)

11. Insert a new organisational slide between slide 1 and 2.

12. Create the new slide as shown in figure 3 (the template design may be

different, depending on your selection in the previous task).

14. Create a chart on the new slide using the following data:

c. Change the colour of the slide number in the footer information.

d. Change the size of the slide number in the footer information.

e. Insert a piece of clip art and position it at the top left of the master

slide. Resize the image to 3cm high. Change the order of the image so

that it is at the back (behind any title text)

Question 4 – Databases (20 marks)

1. Create a new database and save it with the file name Music.

2. Create a new table with the following field names, field types, size or format.

(You may add a short description for each field if your program allows it.)

3. Nominate the ‘AlbumID field as the primary key field.

4. Save the table as Albums Table.

5. Open the Albums Table in Datasheet View.

6. Enter the following records into the Books Table. (You can do this using copy

and paste)
