The University of the Philippines Society for Hotel and Restaurant Progress (UP-SHARP), created exclusively for BS Hotel, Restaurant and Institutions Management majors, is an organization given due recognition by the University of the Philippines, Diliman. For 41 years now, UP SHARP has committed itself to the development of leadership, excellence, and socio-civic consciousness among its members, the qualities much needed in order to become competent managers in the hospitality industry. Through the years, the organization has held different activities to help achieve its wide range of goals, keeping in mind the distinct demands of the industry. This coming August 18, 2011, UP SHARP will participate again in the Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE). This activity aims to raise awareness and consciousness on issues that are inevitably affecting UP students. UP SHARP plans to hold a talk-cooking demonstration to provide sufficient and useful information to the participants about the chosen topic, Gourmet from Left-overs. In behalf of our organization, Im inviting you, Ms. Aileen Anastacio, to be our guest in that event.
