Designed with high performance in mind, the Altura Series® has been created for commercial plant room enclosures where zero vision, maximum airflow and maximum rain defence are crucial. Not only is mechanical equipment hidden from view, Altura also achieves AS/NZS 4740:2000 Class B1 performance classification making it one of the highest performing louvres on the market.

The pressure drop across the ventilator was measured at 100mm from the upstream and downstream of the ventilator. It can be seen in Figure 4 that the pressure drop increased with air velocity.

Figure 6 summarizes the rain penetration performance of the ventilator at the core velocities from 0m/s to 3.5m/s. The rain penetration rate remains above 95% up till the core velocity of 2m/s. When the ventilation rate increased to 3.5m/s the penetration rate raised to 11.30 L/hr∙m2 and this was due to more rain droplets were able to travel pass the ventilator at higher flow rates.

PERFORMANCE DATA
Performance tested to AS/NZS 4740:2000 Louvreclad Altura Series® is a 100mm pitch 300mm deep fixed blade louvre which achieves a Class 1 for aerodynamics and a Class B for rain defence making it one of the highest performing louvres on the market for both rain defence and aerodynamics. Alongside this the Altura Series is one of the only louvres which provides 80% free open area.
Rain Defence tested to AS/NZS 4740:2000Rain penetration analysis is tested to AS/NZS 4740:2000 and was conducted at a constant rain flow rate with ventilation rates ranging from 0.5m3/s to 3.5 m3/s. The results concluded that the ventilator has low rain defence performance and is summarized in Table 2.
The average rain penetration effectiveness at core velocities from 0 to 3.5m/s was 95% effective achieving a Class B rating.
Aerodynamics tested to AS/NZS 4740:2000The aerodynamics and discharge coefficient analysis was conducted to AS/NZS 4740:2000 with the ventilation rate ranging from 0.4m/s to 3.4m/s. Table 2 summarizes the ventilator’s aerodynamic performance at different face velocities, resulting in an average discharge coefficient of 0.929 and effective aerodynamic area of 0.50m² while achieving a Class 1 performance rating.
