David Sariti '95, is currently orchestral director at the Rod Serling School of Fine Arts in Binghamton, New York and a first violinist in the Binghamton Symphony Orchestra. At Ithaca he performed in the Symphony and String Orchestras, and was an assistant to Pamela Gearhart with the Ithaca Youth Orchestra. He was awarded his bachelor of music degree magna cum laude in Music Education, and studied violin and chamber music with Pamela Gearhart and Debra Moree, and chamber music with Elizabeth Simkin. He has performed in master classes for Ani Kavafian, Eugene Becker, and Henry Rubin, and has been a· featured soloist in the Carousel Artist Series in Binghamton.
For two summers, Mr. Sariti has attended Ivan Galamian's Meadowmount School of Music, participating in highly selective chamber music performances and serving as principal second violin of the Meadowmount String Orchestra. While at Meadowmount he studied violin with Debra Moree and Ann Setzer, and chamber music with Christian Teal (Blair Quartet), Stephen Shipps and Owen Carman (Meadowmount Trio). He was inducted into the Ithaca College chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, the national music honor society.
Jason R. Alfred is currently a staff accompanist at Ithaca College, where he enjoys a rich concert season of solo and collaborative recitals. As a student at Ithaca College, Jason was a two-time winner of the Concerto Competition performing the second concerti of Rachmaninoff and Brahms. He has also been awarded the Best Accompanist Award at the Civic Morning Musicals Competition at Syracuse University three years running. In addition to his studies at Ithaca, Jason has recently received a Performance Certificate from the Moscow State Conservatoire. Mr. Alfred has also played in master classes both solo and collaboratively with distinguished artists such as Jeffrey Kahane and Simone Pedroni (winners of the Van Cliburn Competition), Valery Kastelsky, Ani Kavafian, David Shifrin, Carol Webber, and Elly Ameling.
