(A) Social Science – 2 years One year of US History or US History and American Government, and one year of social science

(B) English – 4 years Composition and literature designated as college preparatory

(D) Laboratory Science – 2 years At least one biological science and one physical science

(E) Language Other Than English – 2 years College prep language courses taken in the 8th and 9th grade may be included.

(F) Visual and Performing Arts – 1 year One year sequence course. Art, dance, theater/drama, music.

(G) College-Preparatory Electives – 1 year Any additional courses (not previously listed) that are included in the UC “A-G” list.

�  Testing Time: 2 hours and 45 minutes (about 3 ½ hours total)

�  The PSAT/NMSQT Measures: �  Critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing skills that are important for success in

college; accumulative knowledge and skills; ability to reason �  Reading: 47 questions �  Writing/Language: 44 questions �  Math – no calculator: 17 questions �  Math – calculator: 31 questions

�  Scoring: �  Scale of 320–1520 �  Correct answer= 1 point �  Omitted question = no points �  Wrong answers = no points lost
