TheActingCompanyhasoperatedon100%volunteerworksinceitsinceptionandfinallywetookahugeleapforwardbyhiringapart-timetheatermanager.OurboxofficeisopenMondaysthroughFridaysfrom12-2p.m.toselltickets,takeyourreservations,andhelpyouwithanyquestionyoumighthave.

In2007,undertheauspicesofMagicTheatre,webeganofferingchildren’stheaterperformancesforyoungaudiences.For2010,ourchildren’stheaterfeaturessevenproductions,continuingwithperformancesonselectedSaturdayafternoonsat1:00and3:00p.m.Wewillalsocontinuetoofferworkshopsforyoungactors.

Weareexcitedtooffermilitarydiscountsinadditiontoourspecialratesforseniors,childrenandstudents.Ourdiscountsareavailableforopeningweekends.Forselectedshows,discountsareofferedfortheentirerunofthatshow.

InthepastdecadewehavebeennominatedfordozensofEllyAwardsbytheSacramentoAreaRegionalTheaterAlliance,andhavewon11oftheprestigioustheaterawards.

TheActingCompanysharesthemagicoflivetheaterbysupportingtheYuba-Suttercommunitywithsixfull-scaleproductionseachyear,entertainmentatlocalevents,children’stheater,actingworkshops,therentalofcostumesandprops,anddonatingperformancestolocalnon-profits.

studioandcateringservice.ThroughtheeffortsofTheActing

Companythebuildinghasbeenfullyrenovatedandmodernizedinto

asinglepurposetheater.Thecompanyhasgrownandgainedawell-

deservedreputationforqualityproductionsandhasgarneredagood

numberofawardsintheSacramentoregion.Notrestingonitslaurels,

Young People’s Theatre ProgramAgainthisyearTACwilloffermonthlytheaterclassesforyoungpeopleages6-18.Everymonthwillbringanewtopicandanexcitinginstructor.EachnewclasswillbeginonthefirstSaturdayofthemonthandrun4weeks.Theclassesaredesignedtointroduceanddevelopactingandtheaterskillstothenextgenerationofactorsanddirectors.Theatercanbealife-changingexperienceformanychildrenbuildingteamandleadershipskillsandconfidence.

Theclasseswillbeheldfrom10:00to11:30,SaturdaymorningsatTheActingCompanytheatre.ThecostfortheseSaturdayClasseswillbe$60.00foreachofthefour-weeksessions.Scholarshipsareavailable.

VolunteersThereismuchmoretothetheaterprocessthanadirectorputtingagroupofactorsonstage.TheActingCompanyhasalwaysreliedonitsvolunteers,whichincludesthoseactorsandthatdirector.Tomakeiteasierforyoutobepartoftheater’srewardingexperience,wehavecreatedavolunteerprogram.Wewillhaveregularmeetings,rewardsforvolunteerhourscontributedandanannualrecognitiongatheringforvolunteers.
