The Langstone Cliff Hotel, in Dawlish, on the beautiful south Devon coast, awaits to give you a warm welcome.
Set in 19 acres of child friendly woodland, the hotel has magnificent views over the Exe estuary, and Dawlish Warren beach is just a short walk down a footpath.
We offer a busy events programme: dinner dances are our speciality and we love finding new acts, as well as bringing back the seasoned favourites for your entertainment on our themed weekends.
There have been some exciting developments at the hotel this year, with rooms refurbished and a new bio-mass
boiler. We even had a fleeting visit from the Prime Minister when he was airlifted from our grounds after visiting Dawlish to see the storm damage: the town hit the national headlines when the rail track was washed away. Thankfully normality has been restored and we wait to give you a friendly welcome.
For children sharing family rooms and suites
Children enjoy discounts throughout the year, even in peak season and at Christmas and Easter.
Up to two children, under 10 years old, enjoy free food and accommodation when sharing with two adults.
Additional children under 10 years are charged at quarter tariff.
Children 10 – 16 years of age, sharing as above are charged at half tariff.
Single parent families or one adult travelling with children please ask for special tariff.
Where three or four adults share family accommodation they will each be charged at 85% of the tariff.
It’s by far one of the best places I have been with my family, everything needed
for a family holiday - lovely sights from the hotel grounds, and areas around it. Place for children to play, great food, great amusements and the most polite
hotel staff ever. All of us would like to go back again, and again...

The Q Band Back by popular request, The Q Band went down so well last time they played that we’ve invited them again. A very polished outfit from Bristol, the set is a show of two halves.

Mid Week Christmas Lunch and Tea Christmassy Sundays
30th November, 7th, 14th, & 21st December 2014Christmassy Sundays have maintained their popularity over many years here at the Langstone. We believe this is due, in no small measure, to the fact that we stick to the traditional format that everyone knows and enjoys at this happy time of year. The lunch menu includes all the Christmas favourites but ensures a good choice – so “Turkey and Pud” are not compulsory. Lunch is served between 12.30 and 2.00pm.
Our “magical piano” sets the mood with seasonal songs and carols. Good quality hats and crackers ensure a party atmosphere through lunch. The Children’s Party keeps the kids amused for an hour or so before Tea & Cakes.

Twixtmas and New Year Holidays
The entertainment throughout the Christmas Holiday is always presented with families in mind, but of course as we get later into the evenings we do feel it is a great opportunity for adults to relax and enjoy themselves too. In particular the New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance is the one day of the year that we do ask the adults to really “dress their best” and this particular evening is not geared towards children. Of course we are not telling you what time to put your children to bed and we also know that this will beg the question when is a child not a child? Again this is a decision for each individual family. In any case, on this particular evening, we should like to keep the Ballroom as a dance floor, not a playground. As a guide could we say that New Year’s Eve is not considered suitable for children under 12 years old, perhaps? To those parents that decide to allow their young children “to the ball” we ask that you ensure that they are supervised at all times. On this delicate issue we shall, of course, need your help mums and dads!
Thank you so much for your understanding and co-operation.

Way back in the 1950s I once heard one of our regular guests asking my father why we increased our tariff in July and August. He responded without hesitation “but we don’t Madam - we reduce them from September to June.” Nothing much has changed, has it? In every industry the laws of supply and demand apply, but nowhere is it more relevant than for seaside hotels in Great Britain. Hence we are able to offer exceptionally keen rates in early December, January, February and March. It can
work out at less than £41.00 per person per day for dinner, room and breakfast - and more than 20% of that goes to the state. Not only can you enjoy a rest - you also become the perfect patriot!
Please note that the offer does not apply for the St Valentines Weekend (13th - 15th February), but of course you could come for this weekend and add days at these special prices. The Valentines Weekend features high quality entertainment which you will find detailed on page 30.
The terms quoted are for dinner, room and breakfast inclusive of VAT. Accommodation must be booked in advance and the appropriate deposit paid. All prices are per person and inclusive of VAT @ 20%.
Details of reductions for children can be found on page 2.
Fantastic Hotel! Stayed with partner for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The room was clean and tidy, the service from staff was exceptional, and
the grounds were beautiful. Very friendly atmosphere around the hotel and a serene,
relaxing setting. Highly recommended.Taarcher1, Reading
