Using a banana as a phone Pretend a banana is your telephone Hold up the banana to your ear and the child’s ear Talk into the phone (banana) as you are talking to someone

on the other end Give the banana back to the child as if someone is on the

other end Also include toy telephones with musical buttons inside

the classroom

Making a car with chairs

Use four chairs to build a car Use a plate for the steering wheel Use a car seat with baby doll to put in car with “parents” Make sure you show the children the car seat goes in the back

seat Children could make up where they are going in their cars Ex: Grocery store, park, doctor, mall, etc… Another child could be traffic guard and direct them to the right

place

One child could be the pet groomer One child could be the pet owner with a stuff animal

as their pet Use grooming tools: Brush, blow dyer, nail clippers,

scissors, etc…

Using the sand on the playground to make a cake Use the grass for sprinkles One child could make the cake and put it in the oven Another child could watch the cake while it cooks Use play utensils to cut and serve to their peers

the baby to the doctor Doctor could have lab coat, stethoscope, utensils,

etc… Give the baby doll a shot and give him/her a sticker

at the end of the visit
