1. Feedback is important. No, critical.

Foreachjobyouwork,aclientcan(andshould)leaveFeedbackratingstosharehowgreatitwasworkingwithyou.

Justasclientscanleavecommentsonwhytheyenjoyedworkingwithyou,youcanalsorespondwithyourownFeedbacktotheircomments.Itgoeswithoutsayingthatanycommentsyouleaveshouldbeprofessionallyworded…asotherclientswillbeabletoseethem.SometimesweseefreelancersreactingpoorlytoFeedbackreceived.Don’tgetcaughtupinthenegativity.IfyoudisagreewiththeFeedbackleft,besuretoremainprofessionalandallowyourresponsetoexplainthesituation.

IfyoufeelthataclientispressuringyoutochangethescopeoftheworkbywithholdingpositiveFeedback(example:askingforextraworkyoudidn’t agreeto),giveusacall.CoercionisaviolationofElancePolicyandyoudeserve better.

And remember, Feedback cannot be changed once it’s posted. This is important to remember when asking for Feedback, and when leaving Feedback for your clients.
