WAVE OF TRANSFORMATION AT COAL INDIA

CIL has embarked on an ambitious transformational journey of implementation of a single instance ERP across the organization

in partnership with Tech Mahindra. Coal India’s ERP aims at One CIL, One database and One business blueprint. All subsidiaries

will contribute towards building and implementing a global business blueprint to address this requirement.

ERP brings in enhanced data integrity, standardized operations, real-time decision making, improved operational efficiency & re-

duced costs. Apart from system modernization, ERP will act as a single source of all information across organization.

PROJECT PLAN FINALIZATION

The draft project plan prepared by Tech Mahindra addresses implementation requirements in detail, under five major phases as

illustrated below:

Subsequent to the submission of the draft plan by Tech Mahindra, stakeholders from subsidiaries examined and approved the

draft. Extensive discussions were held on all aspects such as enterprise architecture, designing system, data migration, testing,

system integration, testing and support mechanisms in the workshop.

WORKSHOP UPDATE

The project plan finalization workshop chaired by Shri. Binay Dayal, Director (Technical), CIL, was held at Coal Bhawan, Kolkata

on 15th & 16th January 2019.

We are delighted to announce that the finalized project plan has been agreed to and signed-off after incorporating the sugges-

tions. We would like to extend our gratitude to the project leaders for joining us at the ERP Project plan finalization workshop

and enabling a successful sign-off for the change initiatives.
