Google+ Hangouts are amazing!

What is a hangout on air?

Only ten people can join a hangout. What about others that would like to listen in live? They CAN! In this case you create a hangout on Air. With a Hangout on Air you can broadcast to an unlimited audience by linking your YouTube channel to the hangout. When the broadcast finishes this converts to a YouTube video! Totally amazing!

The first time you create a Hangout on Air…

Choose ‘Enable hangouts on Air’

A sign will appear taking you to YouTube to verify your account .

After that:

1) Complete the step-by-step process…

2) You will be asked for your mobile

number in order to send you the code to

paste in…

3) Your new enablement of YouTube will

be acknowledged…

4) You’ll need to agree to the terms…

you are now done!

The process is summarised here…

It’s important to remember that your broadcasted session will appear on BOTH your Google+ and YouTube accounts.

The process…

Once you click “Hang out,” your video chat will start, but it won’t be recording or broadcasting yet. After everyone is settled, click the “Start Broadcast” button in the top right corner. You’ll receive one last reminder that you’re about to broadcast live to the public. Hit “okay” and after a 10-second countdown the title at the top will switch to “On Air.” You’ll be able to see the number of live viewers along the top.

The process continued…

When the live broadcast is over, a recording will automatically replace the live player so individuals that missed the Hangout can still view it. You’ll also have the option of editing your video using YouTube’s Video Editor.

In turn your viewers can watch either in your Google+ stream or in your YouTube Channel

You’ll see the video on your

YouTube channel!
