Christie’s Geneva may only hold auctions of Jewels, Watches andWines, but there is so much more that goes on behind the scenes.Since 1967, when the Swiss office was opened, the team in Genevahas also been the main contact point for all collectors wishing to sellpaintings and works of art in all categories. Some of our specialists are based in Geneva, whilst others visit regularly from our other salesites around the world. Here are a few new and familiar faces thatcontribute to the overall running of the Geneva office.

Carolyn Hodler

JewelsAn experienced new team on board for theChristie’s Jewellery Department in Geneva.Jean Marc Lunel has been appointed Head ofDepartment, Felice Lieftinck has joined as aSpecialist, and Brenda Kang has moved toChristie's Geneva after having worked at Christie'sNew York, Paris and Shanghai. Brenda speaks fluentMandarin making her a very popular contact for theburgeoning Chinese market.

Post-War &Contemporary ArtAlice de Martigny first joined the Post-War and Contemporary Art department in 2006with a focus on the Day Sale in London. Shortly thereafter she was promoted to focus on the Evening Sale. Her primary areas of interest are European Post-War Art particularlyNicolas de Stael and Yves Klein.

Born in New York, raised in Geneva and currently living in London, Carolyn Hodler isthe perfect addition to the Geneva team. Based in London, she visits Geneva every monthto meet with clients and visit galleries following the local art scene for Post-War andContemporary Art.

Furniture & Works of ArtFrançois Rothlisberger joined Christie’s in 1994 where he has worked since then as a European Furniture Specialist in London, Paris and Geneva. He was responsible for the very first house sale in Geneva, Villa Diodati. Now based in Zurich as a Director and Senior Specialist in European Furniture, François Rothlisberger acts as a senior business-getter for sales across the Continent.

Watches With over 60 years of auction experience betweenthem, and the combined knowledge of 5 differentlanguages, this team definitely speaks “Watches”.Fluently. As in a watch, every screw, wheel and leverhas its task to fulfill, each member of Geneva Watchdepartment plays his or her role to ensure thingsrun like clockwork.

BusinessDevelopment& Director Having worked at Christie’s since 1994,Eveline de Proyart is the Head of Christie’s Geneva saleroom and the Vice President of Christie’s Switzerland. She is responsible forBusiness Development and as such is the principalcontact for the Suisse Romande region.

WineBased in Paris for most of theyear, Michael Ganne spends 3 months in Geneva preparing for the Geneva Wine sale. He hasbeen at Christie’s for 6 years

Oliver Wiseman joinedChristie’s 9 years ago. He’s theHead of the Paris & Geneva Winedepartments and also takes careof the organization of many Wine Tastings.

Impressionist and Modern ArtSwiss ArtThomas Seydoux has contributed to a number of auction successes at Christie’s all around the world,including Paris, New York and London, such as the sale of Gustave Caillebotte’s 1880 masterpiece, L’Hommeau Balcon, which set a world auction record for the artist. He is now International Head of Impressionistand Modern Department.

Nadja Scribante joined Christie’s in 1998 as the Head of the Impressionist and Modern Art department in Geneva, before being also appointed Head of the Swiss Art department for the Romande region in 2001.She has contributed to the setting of sale price auction records such as the Natalia Goncharova’s Espagnoleand La Promenade de la Treille by W. Toepffer.
