Re-engineering corporate
mobility and car sharing

In our research over two years…
we have not been able to identify
a journey sharing program working
without incentives. The driver needs to be paid (reducing the cost of the
commute by up to £1,500 p.a.) and the passenger needs
to save money.
Faxi.co.uk and Ride.com ensure journey sharing for the
long-term by providing the technical infrastructure to
enable and encourage car cost sharing.

• Ride.com has recently been
developed to create a
commuter journey sharing
platform that allows
incentives and payment.
• Stanford University Staff
group was launched in
December 2014 and now
has 2500 of its 10,000 users registered.
• Faxi and Ride are partnering to ensure technology and
best practice is shared to maximise the efficiency of
corporate journey sharing.
• See attached ride.com user acquisition proposal for Nike
Bristol City Council Faxi groups. Up to 50% of drivers sign up when car parking is reduced
and allocation of permits are prioritised to Faxi users.

3 key ingredients for journey sharing to work
It’s all about saving money. We facilitate
payment between drivers and passengers
Mobile is revolutionising business and the
way we live. It is key to journey sharing
6
Making the mobile experience an
integral part of the daily commute.
Providing the functionality to save costs
• Show Journey share partners on journey
• Show cycling and walking routes and times
• Multiple route options with accurate congestion calculated
travel times
• Live and future weather updates
• Dependent upon car park infrastructure parking space
availability
• …and facilitate quick and easy payments from passenger
to driver

How it works
8
1. Set up your own closed group – a map
based social network.
Identifies real-life
travelling companions
saving money, increasing
safety & allowing more
active transport
2. An email invitation directs your community
to a branded registration page
9
3. Member sees different transport options
and health/environmental benefits
10
11
4. App shows multiple routes to destination
and potential journey sharing partners
12
5. Member creates ‘cluster’ of journey
partners for broadcast messages
• Member selects
others who they
could regularly share
with
• Easily sends them
group messages for
sharing and last
minute ‘help’ alerts
13
6. Drivers and passengers ‘handshake’
and begin sharing
• Members communicate to
arrange journey sharing
• Confirmation of proximity and
journey sharing starts
• Provides the proof that journey
sharing has taken place
• Used for proof to administer
incentives or rewards
14
7. Accurate, cost-effective notification of car
sharing in real-time via proximity technology.
15
• Member to member payment
solution provided by established
digital platform
8. Faxi payment solution between
driver and passenger

Faxi vision, work with employers to encourage
commuting by walking or cycling
The benefits of cycling or walking to work benefit the environment
the individual and the employer. Faxi technology encourages
active commuting and allows employers to accurately incentivise.
• Reduces risk of major illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke,
diabetes and cancer by up to 50% and lowers risk of early
death by up to 30%.
• Workplace health schemes show absenteeism costs fall by
about $2.73 for every dollar spent* http://content.healthaffairs.org/content/early/2010/01/14/hlthaff.2009.0626.short
• “This is a simple message: just a small amount of physical
activity each day could have substantial health benefits for
people who are physically inactive,” Professor Ulf Ekelund, from the Medical Research Council (MRC) Epidemiology Unit at Cambridge University
