About Tala Pasifika

The Service has been developed to ensure Pacific people:

•Have their say on tobacco issues•Are actively involved in eliminating tobacco from their communities•Have a way of coordinating important tobacco control information and activities

Target Audience

• Pacific Children • Pacific Adolescents (13-19yrs)• All Pacific Males• Pregnant Women• Cook Islands Females

Our Goal and objectives

Goal:

Pacific input into the Maori Select committee enquiry:Objectives:

1)To raise the awareness of the Maori Select Committee enquiry

2)To mobilise as many Pacific written submissions3) To mobilise Pacific provider and community support for the

Pacific oral submissions in Auckland.

The Plan

• Deliberately use the information and evidence we had on Pacific people.

• Understand our Pacific Principals • Select priority advocacy issues• Fast pace a build up of credibility and trust• Have a clear position
