2014 Key Match Facts There were 8500 more positions available than there were graduating seniors.

500 more PGY-1 positions were offered and filled in 2014 than in 2013.

There were approximately 1200 unfilled positions after the match.

There were 9 unmatched applicants for every unfilled position available in SOAP.

There were approximately 13,300 SOAP-eligible (unmatched) applicants in 2014, 2050 of them U.S. seniors.

o Of the 2050 unmatched U.S. seniors, 412 had no position post-SOAP.
