String family

Violin

VIOLIN• There are more violins in a symphony orchestra than any other instrument.

Viola

VIOLA• This instrument

looks like the twin brother of the violin, but it's a bit bigger with a slightly lower sound.

Cello

CELLO• You have to sit

down and hold this instrument between your knees to play it. It has a rich and mellow sound.

Double bass

DOUBLE BASS• This instrument

stands over six feet tall and is the lowest sounding instrument in the string family.

Cembalo

CEMBALOA musical instrument played by means of a keyboard.

It was very popular in the Baroque era ( 1600-1750).

PLACKED

Harp

HARP• The instrument of the

angels.

• It has 47 strings and seven pedals.

Guitar

GUITARIt's a plucked string instrument usually played with fingers and sometimes with a pick.

KEYBOARD

PIANO• It is the most

popular of all the keyboard instruments.

• Lots of music has been written for it.

TROMBONE•This instrument can slide from one note to another.

TUBA• It is the lowest sounding brass instrument.
