• With the Past Perfect you say that something happened before something else.
• Past Perfect | Past | Present
• When I walked to school, I noticed i had left my notebook at home
• You left your notebook, before you walked to school.
• So,• Had left -> Past Perfect (happened first)• Walked -> Past (happened next)
Past perfect continuous
• I had been walking for ten minutes when I tripped over a stone.
• Here you were already walking when you tripped.
• So again,• Had been walking -> Past Perfect Continuous• Tripped -> Past (happened while walking)
