We know your entry will be a great addition to the parade theme, “Rockin’ Christmas.” The parade begins at 10:00 am. This is your “Day of Packet” for your Auto Entry in the 2016 parade. Enclosed you will find the following:

Disembarking Map with Directions CHECK-IN Check-in time begins at 7:45am and everyone must be checked in by 8:45am. Your entry representative will need to check-in at the intersection of Las Posas Rd. and Loma Dr. Due to the road closures the morning of the parade, you should access the check-in point on Las Posas Dr. from the east end, either from Lewis Rd. or Ponderosa Dr. Once you checked in you will be given your parade line up number and be escorted to your staging location. JUDGING Judging will begin at 9:15am in the staging area. Judges are positively influenced by how much you add to the parade theme, for example: preparation, appearance, decorations, etc. AWARDS CEREMONY We hope you will attend the Awards Ceremony at the Community Center following the parade. The award ceremony begins approximately at 1:30pm. Auto Award winners will need to request their trophy by e-mail to ldbinney@pvrpd.org within 30 days to indicate the winner’s desire for an awards trophy. DISTRIBUTION OF ITEMS ALONG PARADE ROUTE For safety reasons the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District and the City of Camarillo prohibit the distribution of any items by parade participants during the parade. Entrants are also prohibited from leaving the parade formation in order to collect items along the parade route, with the exception of restroom stops. CHILD PICK UP/MEET All parade entries will end at Santa’s Village located at the Community Center. We recommend parking your vehicle in the neighborhood located around the Community Center and meeting your child at the playground or inside the courtyard. Restrooms, food and holiday shopping is available at Santa’s Village.

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES
All parade participants are expected to comply with the following rules:
1. To avoid gaps in the parade, please do not stop along the parade route. The parade starter will direct you to begin at certain intervals. Please maintain this spacing, and do not close in on preceding units. Parade staff will be wearing green staff shirts. If you create gaps or stop in any way, they will ask you to keep moving.
2. To insure the safety of spectators, especially children, the distribution or throwing of any items, including
candy, by the parade participants to the spectators is strictly prohibited.
3. All participants holding a balloon should be dressed in a group shirt, uniform, warm up, etc. that identifies your group.
4. There will be only one Santa Claus allowed in the parade and he will ride on the Santa Claus float at the
end of the parade. Please do not have a Santa Claus in your entry.
5. Participants are asked not to race engines, make loud noises, or make quick movements near the equestrian units.
6. Vehicles should not be left at the parade start or staging area after the last unit has departed unless
legally parked. Please do not leave your vehicle or entry without a driver at any time.
7. At parade finish (Carmen and Burnley), participants should maintain the same spacing until they reach the Community Center. All units will be dispersed at the Community Center where award ceremonies and Santa’s Village will be held.
8. Participants should comply with all instructions from parade officials or police officers.
9. Floats/Specialty Units or vehicles should not be left unattended at any time during the staging of the
parade. A driver must always be present.
10. Share the contents, directions and information of this packet with everyone in your entry.
11. Please remove all of your trash from the staging area. Do not leave trash on the streets

PARADE ROUTE The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on the corner of Temple Ave. and Las Posas Rd., then proceeds westerly along Las Posas Rd. for 1.6 miles (approximately 35 min.) to Carmen Drive where the parade turns left on Carmen Dr. and proceeds to Burnley St. There are many spectators along Carmen Dr., so please remain in formation until you reach Burnley St. Parade participants then turn left on Burnley St. and into the Community Center grounds to disembark and view the awards ceremonies. Parade Numbers – given upon check in All units will be given parade numbers to be worn/displayed during the parade. ***In order for the judges and announcers to better differentiate parade unit participants, each parade unit will be given a set of parade line-up numbers. These are to be placed in a recognizable area. You must check in with your unit director to receive your number. All units will be given a set of identical numbers, to be displayed on the right and left hand sides of your unit. The following are suggested areas for placement of these numbers.

Vehicle: the right and left fronts of vehicle on side of headlights or doors Remember your numbers need to be seen! Check in with your unit director(s) to receive your assigned parade number: Autos: Corner of Las Posas Rd. and Loma Dr. Balloons: Corner of Temple Ave. and Via Corza Bands: PV Aquatic Center Parking Lot; 1030 Temple Ave. Equestrian: Corner of Beverly Dr. and Merced Dr. Float & Specialty: Corner of Temple Ave. and Aloha St. This number will enable the announcers to read the correct narrative about your group. Reminder: Bring tape or adhesive to adhere your parade number to your unit. Tape or other supplies will not be provided to you.

Back Route Staging Directions & Map Directions to Staging Area for Balloons from Temple Ave./Ponderosa Dr.:
Take Ponderosa Dr. east to N. Shepherd Dr. and turn left. Turn left on Dwight Ave. Turn right
on Loma Dr. Turn left on Lemon Dr. Follow to Via Corza cross Temple Ave. and check-in will
be at the corner of Via Corza and Temple Ave.
Directions to Staging Area for Float/Specialty from Temple Ave./Ponderosa Dr. (Non-Semi Trucks):
Take Ponderosa Dr. east and turn left on Las Posas Rd. Make a right on Loma Dr. Make a
left on Aloha St. Check-in is at the corner of Temple Ave. & Aloha.
Only the parade vehicle is allowed to drive on Temple Ave.
Directions to Staging Area for Float/Specialty from Temple Ave./Ponderosa Dr. (Semi-Trucks and
Over-Sized Vehicles from Temple Ave. at Lewis Rd.):
Take Lewis Road north east to Durkin St. Turn left on Durkin St and follow north. Turn left
on Stiles Ave. Turn right on Eston St. Turn right on Ponderosa Dr. Turn left on Shepherd Dr.
Turn left on Dwight Ave. Turn right on Loma Dr. Turn right on Las Posas Rd. Turn Left on E.
Loop. Follow E. Loop and turn left at Amber Dr.
Stop at the corner of Amber Dr. and Temple Ave. Send one person to check-in at the
corner of Temple Ave. and Aloha St. After check-in, a representative will walk you to your
vehicle staging location.
Directions to Staging Area for Auto and Equestrian Units from Temple Ave./Ponderosa Rd.
Auto: Take Ponderosa Dr. east and turn left on Las Posas Rd. Check-in will be on the
corner of Las Posas Rd. & Loma for Auto Units.
Equestrian Units, turn right on Loma Dr. and follow Loma Dr. and turn left at Merced Dr.
Equestrian Units will check in at the corner of Merced Dr. and Beverly Dr. Once checked
in, units will be directed to their staging numbers on Beverly Dr.
