• Purposes• Refurbishing Military • Rebuilding the economy and infrastructure• Improving the quality of life

Refurbishing the Military

• Military expands to form an Army Corps of Engineer-like program• Focus on the construction of public works

• Schools, hospitals, and roads

• Mandatory 1-2 year service for all citizens• Training for various vocations

• Mandatory retirement at age 65• With benefits

Rebuilding the Economy and Infrastructure

• With the military service requirement, citizens will be ready to fill jobs created through funding

• Supply citizens with necessary means for agricultural production• Self sustaining economy

Improving the Quality of Life

• People will be able to take care of and support themselves• Stability

• More money will be in the hands of the people• They’ll be happier

Why Should the U.S. Help

• Benefits to the United States• Human rights brought to Paraguay

• Shows the GOP cares

• Containment of Communism spread

• After the Carter Administration, the U.S. public began to be compassionate towards the human rights in other nations• Can show that GOP cares and will improve the

rights of others instead of just demanding change

Containment of Communism

• A stable nation is less likely to fall to Communism

• U.S. supplied aid to prevent a fall into fascism during World War II

• Prove a U.S. alliance more beneficial than one with the U.S.S.R
