SCIS implementation

SCIS started cataloguing with RDA on 1 July 2013but will retain GMD while systems change

There is no plan for retrospective change of existing records (except parts of Bible and Qur’an)

Library systems will manage both AACR2 and RDA records

• RDA emphasises the importance of relationships

• RDA adds precision to access points

• RDA provides greater internationalisation

• RDA builds a display of results that conveys meaningful information to the user
