Early 2006, when I had just opened my new galery next to my off ice, I had made a series of

drawings in red, black and white as an “obvious sequel” to the previous series of drawings with

many colours. Obvious, because I had the idea that simplif ication of the colours would give an

enhancement of the image. These drawings have been a forerunner to a series of paintings in red,

black and white. Part ly abstract, but also scenic and even somewhat f igurative. Al l these stains

in red, black and white show, at a closer look, people on a horizon, views and alarming skies.

Form (shape) and left-over form (shape) are very important in these series. A black form (shape)

shows as a left-over form (shape), a human f igure that does not surface immediately. You have to

look closer to discover the entire image. The drawings are exhibited as a series of nine on a black

surface. The paintings are painted as a series of four.
