RULES FOR STUDENT IPAD USE

WHAT IS AN

?The iPad is a small, thin tablet

computer designed and developed by Apple. It is ideal for viewing audio and visual media (books, apps, and web content). Battery life of an iPad is up to 9 hours.

Rules: Respectful, Responsible and Ethical Use and Care of iPads

Remember….iPads are a learning tool.

Please treat them with respect!

Student iPad use will be in

accordance with the district acceptable

use policy.

No food or drinks near the iPads and make sure

hands are clean.

Do not remove covers of iPads.

The iPad screens can be damaged if subjected to rough treatment.

The glass is fragile, be mindful not to set objects on top of it.

Use care when plugging

charger or earbuds into

the iPad ports.

Do not change the name of the iPad.

Do not change any settings.

Do not create a pass code to lock the

iPad

Use only the apps and/or

websites permitted for the

task at hand.

Do not download apps

to the iPads.

Taking pictures and/or videos is only allowed if

teacher permission is

given.

Do not connect/sync iPads to any computers

(personal or classroom)

Use only a soft, dry microfiber cloth to

clean iPad screens (no tissues or paper towels

or any other cloth). 

When storing iPads on a cart make sure the iPad number matches

the number on the cart’s slot and the power adapter is

plugged in properly. If the light is not on, it is

not plugged in properly.

If there is a problem with the iPad tell the teacher immediately.

Do not try to bypass the Jones County School District web filter.

AGAIN…..DO NOT change any settings on the iPad, including but not limited to making folders, renaming apps, etc. Use only the apps assigned by your teacher.

Technology is a

privilege not a right.

If you break these rules, the school may inform your parents. In serious cases the school may take disciplinary action against you.

If you break, you buy!You will be charged repair costs if you damage the ipad.

Inappropriate use of the iPad will get you in BIG trouble.

If illegal material or activities are involved it may be necessary for the school to inform the police.

Violators will be punished.

Vandalism is a criminal offense.
