attend State Convention T h r e e m e m b e r s of the Spar ta FFA C h a p t e r a t tended the

43rd annual FFA Convent ion at Eas t Lans ing on March 24-26. They met with s o m e 1,000 o the r Michigan FFA s t u -den t s f o r the two-day s e s s i o n , which w s s s p o n s o r e d by the Michigan D e p a r t m e n t of Education in coopera t ion with Cont inuing Educat ion Se rv ice of Michigan State Un ive r s i t y on S t a t e ' s c a m p u s .

G r e g Beusche l and Allen May w e r e chap t e r d e l e g a t e s who helped conduct the b u s i n e s s of the 10,000 m e m b e r a s s o c i a t i o n .

A highlight of the convention was the c o n f e r r i n g of the State FFA D e g r e e on 189 boys and the naming of J i m B y r u m of Les l i e a s S ta r S ta te F a r m e r and Dennis Mat thews of

Corunna a s S t a r State A g r l b u s i n e s s m a n . F r o m th is g roup of 189 State F a r m e r s , d e l e g a t e s e l ec t ed

s t a t e o f f i c e r s fo r the coming y e a r .
