Step 1: Go to storybird.com and click ‘Sign In’.

Step 2: Make sure you have the little piece of paper that has your user name and temporary password Miss Misha gave you!

Step 3: Enter your username and temporary password below.

Step 4: Create a new password and enter it twice, make sure your parents help you and write down your new password somewhere so you won’t forget it. (Your password has to be at least 6 characters)

Now you are logged on, you can see all your classmates below and anything Miss Misha assigns here, you can also see what the

other students have written under ‘Class Library’.

You can follow friends here.

If Miss Misha ever wants you to read a book, she will post it here.

Step 5: Click ‘create’ to get started

Step 6: Scroll through all the art work and pick one that you might like to write a story about.

Step 7: Once you decide on an artwork that you like, click ‘Use This Art’ I suggest using the ‘Picture Book’ and it allows you to use a number of pages but not so many that it is a chapter book.

Step 8: Chose a picture for your title page, chose a color, and write a title. You can always come back to the title page after you write the story if this is easier. To start writing, click the ‘blue arrow’ in the bottom right corner.

Step 9: let the ideas flow

Step 10: To add a new page, click the ‘+’ button in the bottom right corner. To add the picture you want, drag

it to the blank page.

Step 11: Write as much as you want!

If you have cannot finish but want to come back and work on your story later, click the ‘Save’ button in the bottom left corner.

Keep it up!

Voila!

Step 12: If you have checked your work numerous times, and are ready to publish, click ‘Menu’ and then ‘Publish’.

Step 13: You can add a summary and pick the genre of your story.

Step 13: You do not need to put a tag, but select kids (5 – 7).

Step 14: Click ‘Publish’

Now you can click through your story! How beautiful!!!!!

All of the class stories will show up in the ‘Class Library’ I encourage you to go read your classmates’ stories! Happy reading and creating! I look forward to seeing your work!
