Total Solar Eclipse 2017 @ St. Louis

St. Louis is the largest city on the path of totality.

The total eclipse will last about 2 minutes.

The next Total Solar Eclipse in N. America will be in 2021,so this is a very valuable opportunity.

This trip will be guided by professionals so you will be at thebest spot to view this epic astronomical phenomenon.

Grand Canyon National Park geological trip

Grand Canyon is found in the state of Arizona and it became a national park in 1919.

It is considered as one of the 7 wonders of the natural world

Students are expected to stay in the national park for 2 days and have astar-gazing night.

Students can gain hands-on experiences to use the telescopes provided by CUHKPhysics Department to do observation and have chance to take astronomy photos.

Mount Wilson Observatory @ Los Angeles

This site is related to many important discovery: Hubble’s law and our expanding universe. First evidence of dark matter.

We can have chance to use 100-inch and 60-inch telescopes for observing for half a night.

It is a very special and valuable experience to visit the observatory for astronomy lovers.

San Francisco city tour Caltech campus tour @ Los Angeles (Exploratorium, Fisherman’s wharf, Cable car, etc.)

Jet Propulsion Lab@ Los Angeles

Act as student leader to take care a group of 20 secondary school students in a 10-day study tour in USA.

Attend a science lecture on Jan 14, 2017.

Prepare for the quiz on Jan 21, 2017.

Act as invigilator for a quiz on Jan 21, 2017.

Attend a 1 Day training workshop.

All returning full time undergraduates of CUHK Science Faculty in 09/2017

are eligible for this tour.
