Three day nationally recognised course provides theoretical and practical instruction to meet the needs of workplaces and for the general public.
CPR Update HLTCPR201B A half day course to update the CPR component of First Aid, required in many workplaces. Day time and evening classes regularly through the year. Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis coming soon.

Community Services Courses Certificate III in Children’s Services CHC30708 This is the nationally recognised minimum qualification for all those employed in child care centres, kindergartens, vacation care, family day care and school-aged care. This course will be offered one day a week over the full year. You may complete the full course, or individual units as needed. Enrolments taken through the year. Wednesdays, 9.00am - 3.00pm or Mondays 6.30 - 10.30pm
Certificate III in Aged Care Work CHC30208 This course is the current minimum qualification for those seeking work as a personal carer in industry workplaces or one a one to one basis. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) including Gap training from BSZ40198 This course will qualify you to train and assess in the vocational education sector. It has a practical workplace based application, it is conducted over 34 weeks. All our courses are delivered in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Training Framework standards. Students can apply for Recognition of Prior
Learning/Recognition of Current Competence to achieve their qualification. Individual pathways will be discussed upon enquiry.

Tuition fees for government funded programs have been set in accordance with Ministe-rial guidelines on fees and charges. These courses may also attract Student Amenity Fees and Material costs. Courses are classified into different categories for the purpose of cal-culating tuition fees. A minimum tuition fee ranging from $50 to $120 (per calendar year) applies to all courses offered by The Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre of 40 hours duration and under. Course hours above 40 hours incur additional charges ranging from $1.08 to $1.41 per hour. The maximum charge varies between $500 and $1000 de-pending on the course. Appropriate concessions or exemptions will be assessed for approval upon application. These card holders pay a maximum tuition fee ranging from $50 to $120 per 12 month period regardless of the number.

CENTRE INFORMATION Philosophy Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre and Neighbourhood House is a place to gather, socialise and learn be it on an educational, personal or social level. Everyone is welcome, regardless of where you live. It is the Centre’s policy not to discriminate against any person, regardless of race, culture, sex, disabil-ity, religion or age.
Concessions Please do not feel excluded because of financial difficulties, speak to the coordinator.
Refund Policy A full refund is made if the course has to be cancelled by the UBCC. Other re-funds (less a$10 administration fee) will be considered if: ??at least 5 working days notice is given
before commencement of the course, and
??the remaining class size is large enough for the course to be viable.
Accredited courses refer to refund policy in student agreement.
Centre users who are affected by alco-hol or prohibited substances will not be allowed to participate in activities. Staff and Tutors have the right to refuse par-ticipation to centre users, who they be-lieve may be affected by alcohol or other substances.
Community Groups Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre Committee of Management The Centre is managed by a voluntary com-mittee of Management which meets once a month at the Centre. The Committee is drawn from the community and it is advan-tageous if the members come from a variety of backgrounds with a range of skills. The first weeks are Word – an introduction to using the computer to type letters, handle basic documents and use some of the functions available. The middle weeks will cover emailing and internet use to demystify this modern form of communication and open up a whole new world of possibilities!
