PRAISING THE LORD OUR GOD

Call To Worship The Rev. Ms. Craven *Prayer of Adoration The Rev. Ms. Craven *Processional Hymn 138 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Call to Confession The Rev. Mr. Gruver Prayer of Confession (unison) The Rev. Mr. Gruver Holy God, Lord most gracious! Rebuke us not in your anger, nor chasten us in your wrath! Holy you have called us to come to you. We feel unworthy, for we have failed you again and again. We feel like running away, yet you keep calling us. Have mercy on us, O God. Have mercy!

Holy God, Father most gracious! Rebuke us not in your anger, nor chasten us in your wrath! Heal us from our sin, for we are troubled. Deliver us for the sake of your steadfast love. Our sins trouble us, O God. We are troubled by how they have hurt others. We are troubled by how they have hurt us. Your ways are right! O righteous God! And whenever we have refused to follow them we have found out how right they are. Have mercy on us, O God. Holy God, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us for the sake of your Son, who died to free us from our sins. To you be honor and glory! Amen.

Pastoral Care – Dr. Faulkner is available to you for prayer, counsel and comfort in times of need. If there is an urgent need, contact Rev. Craven at 804-929-2012. Please sign the Fellowship Registers every Sunday during the summer months. Because so many of our members are on vacation during the summer, the Membership Committee will not be tracking attendance again until Rally Day, September 15th. This means that we won’t write emails or notes, or make telephone calls to members who have been absent from worship for 4, 8, or 12 consecutive weeks. We will continue to record the information from the Fellowship Registers so that we have accurate attendance records for as many members as possible, so please continue to sign in whenever you attend worship. Thanks!

School Supply Drive! Do you remember the excitement of starting a new school year and having fresh school supplies? Having fresh crayons, notebooks, erasers, and sharp pencils do a lot to put young scholars in the mood to learn! The next time you are in the store, please think

of that and pick up some supplies for today’s students. The deacons will be collecting school supplies during the months of August and September for use by the students at Urban Promise. Items needed are: notebooks (any type), 3 subject notebooks with dividers, pencils, pens, glue sticks, loose-leaf paper, erasers, Crayola marker packs, white construction paper, printer paper, two pocket folders, index cards, highlighters, dry erase markers, composition books, memory sticks, and Lysol wipes. Collection bins will be located inside fellowship hall during August and September. Any contributions you can make will be greatly appreciated by the students and teachers at Urban Promise. Let’s get the year off to a good start! If you have any questions regarding the drive please contact Melanie Faulkner at (609)273-8111.

The Great Flood of 2019 In late June, extensive flooding resulted in significant damage to Trinity’s facilities located on the building’s lower level. While these areas have been susceptible to water damage in the past, the intensity of this recent storm caused water damage to tile floors, rugs, walls and furniture. This damage impacted facilities used for the Trinity Nursery School, Church School, Care ’n Share Shop, choir and storage. Initial clean-up progressed quickly and a scope of work for the necessary improvements was finalized in July. This work involves new flooring, sheetrock replacement and painting, a new French drain and associated electrical and plumbing work. These renovations are proceeding with a goal of project completion in early September, in time for the start of the Nursery School fall semester. The cost of this project is approximately $175,000, with only $25,000 being reimbursed through insurance coverage. As much of the finish work as possible will be done by church member volunteers to help contain costs. While the new French drain will help alleviate some of the lower level water, mold, odor issues, another major storm event could still impact the buildings lower l evels even after these improvements. The Church is working closely with the State of New Jersey as they design the drainage improvements associated with the work scheduled for Rt. 70 next year. The cost of this necessary project will significantly impact Trinity’s limited financial resources. Please pray for your elders as we explore options for funding of this project. Trinity Women Join your Trinity sisters in celebrating a return to the church year, with a fall BBQ, catered by Whole Hog Café in Cherry Hill, as well as entertainment by the Sweet Adeline’s Jersey Sound women’s chorus, and a mission presentation by Blue-Line Brothers Blankets, started by our very own Trinity youth, Gavin and Jaret Ritter. This all takes place here at Trinity on: Date: Tuesday, October 1st Time: 6:30 PM Place: Trinity’s Fellowship Hall Tickets are $15 and go on sale September 8, 15, 22, 29 after worship in Fellowship Hall. Please join us for good food, music, mission, and fellowship! Any questions about program or menu, please feel free to contact the PW Programs Committee at [email protected] BRING A FRIEND!

The 2019 Flower Chart is always available for sign ups every Sunday during coffee hour. Please consider donating the flowers around a date of significance in your lives, to remember loved ones, and to celebrate anniversaries, new life and new beginnings. We have one opening left this year on November 3
