15NOV9 Harry Thomas Compost Cooperative - This message is from the Eckington list at Google
Groups: As you collect the leaves from your yard and around your house please consider
donating them to the compost cooperative. Leaves are a great carbon source, which is
essential to creating high quality compost. It is much easier to collect food scraps, nitrogen,
but we are always scrambling to collect enough carbon to keep the compost active. I can
arrange to meet you at your house to collect bagged leaves or meet you at the Harry Thomas
Recreation Center where our compost bins are located. To coordinate donating your leaves
to the compost cooperative please contact me by email, [email protected].
Also, if you would like to join the compost cooperative and begin contributing your food
scraps to our bin and receive finished compost for next summer's gardening season, please
attend our next training; Sunday, November 15 at 11am at the Harry Thomas garden. Thank
you for your support! Jennifer Pierson, Harry Thomas Compost Cooperative Manager.
